Called the dealer to see if they had any oil filters in stock and also inquired about the oil pan drain plug washer. They want almost $2 for the washer!!!
Anyone know of a good place to either order these or pick them up in bulk for a better price?

    Also search on eBay
    They’re in bulk cheaper

When I was doing it conventional style I never changed it and never had a leak. My wife’s car which is an XB 2008, takes the same gasket. I finally had to change hers after 10 years because it had a little drip. Wished I would’ve changed it sooner because it did show signs. But in the middle of a project I didn’t feel like going and getting any. Now I keep some in the garage and if they look bad I’ll change it. But you can typically get a long life out of one washer. Now I have the drain valve on the tundra. No more gasket changes LOL.

Wow, $2 is a little steep for a washer. My dealer hands me one for free every time I buy a filter and oil.

Be warned - I researched the Amazon ones and found several reviews indicating they were counterfeit. When used, they would melt to the oil pan and be a huge PITA to clean off.

I don't believe there is one on the 5.7l engine, my 2010 does not have one.

Your going to have three choices for an oil drain plug washer.
Choice #1 = No washer at all. This is how my brand new Tundra was shipped and is reported by many as the same. Not good as every manual states to use a washer.
Choice #2 = Dark almost black washer. This is the washer that all new Toyota's and Lexus vehicles are supposed to have from the factory. Enjoy it cause it will pretty much
be the last time you see it.
Choice #3 = Blue Washer. Part # 90430-12031. This is the absolute standard for every Toyota and Lexus vehicle for the last 20+ years. Its what every dealer carries and should
be included free with every filter. If your dealer charges you $1-$2 bucks for this you need to question everything they do.

20 yrs worth of oil changes and still using the original washer. I am not sure how you damage it actually. I would not trust aftermarket washers.

And then there's an oil drain plug VALVE. Such as Fumoto. Truly "one and done."

My oem black one finally cracked on me causing a drip recently. I was glad to see it was only the washer and not a bigger leak/problem

Just get a $2 one from Toyota and call it done. Should last at least another decade

I have literally never replaced a washer in the 30 years I've changed oil on any of my vehicles, quads, bikes, generators, mowers, etc. Never took notice to one being there or not being there. Never a leak or drip, etc.

I've even forgotten to put one on and did not loose enough oil to be noticeable between oil changes.
Just made the pan a little wet.
