Bent the shaft on my front right shock this weekend while hunting.

Wasn't much of a bump but I could tell something hit awkward. Low speed maybe 10-15 mph. Have a 2inch spacer block on top, would this over stress the shock?

Ordered 6112s this morning to replace. No love from Toyota.

Where did you order from? On a side note, would this not be covered from bilstein directly? I thought I read something about a lifetime warranty

The issue is that the spacer causes the shock to bottom out and collapse before the rubber bump stop on the lower control arm takes the brunt of the hit.

Did you order from Essex Distributors? Hopefully the 6112’s aren’t still back ordered like they were for me. If they are, I might be able to help you out, as mine are still waiting to be installed. I’m about 1.5 hours north of you.

This is just one of the reasons spacer lifts suck. Actually fairly common with spacers.

Yep. The spacer lift will cause that to happen.

Short answer, spacer fubar'd the shock.

Spacer block made the shock into the bump stop instead of the bump stop. It bottomed out the shock because it changed the geometry and bent it. 6112’s will remedy that cause it will put you back into the normal geometry of the suspension
