If you want something that parts are vastly available go with traxxas. If you want something he can drive anywhere and have an easy time driving look for 4 wheel drive. If you want to get into the track then maybe just a rear wheel drive or 4 wheel drive. I bought my boys traxxas e-revo 1/16 scale for their first Rc cars. There are lots of options out there like the traxxas stampede as well. I also suggest the losi scte for a later truck but not his first since it's more money.

I already picked him up a new Traxxas 1/10 Stampede, 2WD, brushed motor the other day. I think the Stampede is the best model for him. I'm sure I will be getting real familiar with the replacement parts available, haha, hopefully he won't crash it too hard too often!

If he breaks the front or rear a arms replace them with RPM brand. They are a lot stronger and are very hard to break.

so stoked i jsut found this. I have insomnia, only sleep about 4 hours a night....and I have a habit of late night shopping and not knowing it. About 12 months ago a 2wd slash showed up at my door........just ordered this body

Other random shit that i've bought and not realized it.....Chopped Model A door (all rusted out, now sits as a vertical succulent garden......a lot of 100 chinese handcuffs......)

Did you have to adjust the front and weird bumpers to get this to fit? Or did you remove them? I'm having a hard time getting the body to fit over the stock bumpers on my slash 2wd

i kept them on, just set the body in front of the front one, and have the rear exposed.
