Thanks, android Tesla style, best info and buying options here: Can be quirky for some who aren’t techy, mine’s dialed in and a year old now.

Going through some things it does:

Plays games for the kids too:

I took the airbag assembly off and taped around the emblem to catch overspray, doesn’t have to be perfect. The PD just peels away, and use a toothpick in the middle part. Watch some general vids on PD for technique, how to apply coats etc.

How reliable is it once you get it “dialed in”. I’m interested in it for Apple Carplay and can it do Wireless Carplay? I’m very much a DIYer and Tech Nerd and have no issues with it as long as it works once it gets set up.

I have the P3 fast boot installed since fall 2018 and it’s reliable. There’s a newer P6 fast boot and that’s what I would get now. You may want to ask in the fb group whether that new version has any issues in a 2019 Limited. CarPlay from what I understand for P6 is something added at time of purchase (it’s not and just a dongle for mine). Neither would be wireless. I don’t use CP myself, my 11ProMax is usually mounted on the vent. I mainly use the HU to play music videos, movies, and have controllers for games my kids play. The odd time for myself I might Spotify or Waze, hotspotting off my phone. I use 4K downloader to save YouTube vids onto USB sticks.

Its important to liaise with that group as any install or setup will go much smoother.

fyi, if you’re into jb, stay on iOS 13.3. To be released soon. This will allow you to install a tweak that’ll let you CarPlay any app.

Do all the steering wheel controls work? I really only want the HU for CP and actually just bought a Kenwood DMX-906s HU from Amazon...but haven’t installed it yet. The Tesla would be way more than I need, but it looks very cool. I also have a 11ProMax and use it mounted near the vent. But the stock HU really isn’t working for me. I’m currently on the 13.4 beta, but could easily go back to 13.3, but again, I’m not sure I really have a need to run non-standard CP apps, but would be a nice option.

I reached out to Phoenix Android Radios to see if they support the 2019 Tundra Limited. Did you get yours from somewhere else?

I bought from Phoenix, all steering controls work and no issues in my PX3/SR5 combo, however they don’t have access to multiple Tundra years and trims to test their HU’s to answer you. The best bet is still asking on fb someone who has a PX6 installed in their 19 Limited. Only a handful have the recently released PX6 fastboot so if no one has your combo yet, at minimal you can see if there are any issues with it in general. They’d be all the beta testers.

Thanks. I just got a reply back from Phoenix and they do have a Px6 unit for the 2019 Tundra Limited. Now I’m going to have to do some thinking. I’ll check out fb also. Thanks for your help.

Tuffskinz has some Issues with quality control. Bumps, visible seams, rough finish. The good thing is, they have decent customer service and are willing to send replacements
