I have this scratch on my interior trim to the left of the radio on the silver piece. It drives me crazy when I look at it. Is there any way to fix it? You can feel it with your fingernail.

Those appear to be very light nail scratches that are simply the replacement of gloss with opaqueness from abrasion. Try polishing the area with some very fine glazing polish, but be careful not to over-polish...maybe just a swipe or two. Since that is a matte metallic finish, too much polishing is going to change surrounding gloss level, and possibly change the appearance of the metallic particles as well. At the first sign that's happening, better cut your losses and accept what you have.

Perfect imo, but very lightly. That stuff's made for metal.

Actually @Rockanock...I misspoke on the Flitz. It is a very fine polish, but it IS hard. If I were doing this on my truck, I would feel better using something milder like Meguiar's No. 7, Show Car Glaze. You will have better control of the result and the Meguiars will be a little more forgiving. You're only going to have one shot at this...too much polishing, and you will have an eye-sore unless you repaint or wrap.

Speaking of this, has anyone painted their interior trim parts? Interested in how it turned out. I'm running out of mods to do lol.

I’d rather not list. My wife might see it.
No, my wife would find that too weird. If I did, that’d be a private matter so results are between my wife and I. LOL

I would echo Mr Lakeman’s suggestions, with the emphasis on using a very gentle polishing compound and very light pressure. I would also add that if you do wind up with obvious finish vagarities on the scratched part, one last step might be to lightly polish the entire piece, so you wind up hopefully with that piece having a consistent overall appearance that does not clash with the other silver trim pieces.

That scratch would drive me crazy in that spot. Check the replacement cost with Roman, I was thinking of replacing mine with the black trim to make my truck even more BA. And also because....black.

Just found the price of that trim piece in another thread $220 so.... DIY may be a better option.

I’ll try the flitz and see what happens. It does say on the bottle that it restores plastics

Put a real dinger on it at another place and you'll quit noticing it. I doubt it's going to just rub out with a rouge or compound if it will catch a finger nail but you can make it less noticeable. If it bothers you that much see if you can find one in a junkyard for fleabay. It is a truck and not Ferrari.

Got a little eruption in a spot behind the rear fender from a rock or something. At 1st it bugged me and will take about $350 to make perfect. I purposely ignore it. Get over your OCD.

Spending money to make a depreciating asset cherry on places that don't matter. Meh.

Or just pull the trim out and plastic dip it, or Vinyl rap it

Good luck trying to find an exact match on that paint code

Toyota claims there isnt a paint code for it.
Im sure there is paint that closely matches the color, but toyota claims there is not code for it.

I try to periodically check ebay for used dash pieces. They don’t sell too often and the best bets are usually the “make an offer” due to that.
