    Hi everyone,
I have a 2016 cm; which I just did the led headlight upgrade and everything went smoothly. I have an issue with the turn signal hyper flashing. The bulbs are led switchbacks and after repining the purple/white wires, I got the switchback to work. The only problem is that they hyperflash when the headlights/turn signals are on, but not when the headlights are off and the emergency lights always work fine. This only happens when the headlights are on. I do have resistors. Any ideas how i can get this set up to work properly?
    Thanks in advance

When I did mine, I just pugged in the switchbacks, then put the resistors on the tail lights' wire. Easy and quick. May have connected incorrectly? What brand? Hazards working, but not turn signals is normal...as mine did this as well before I put the resistors on.

Do you have led turn signals on the rear?

    That is the problem...

I had the same issue, same taillights and upgraded my turn signals to triton v6 amber LEDs from VLEDs.

I believe the issue arises from the circuit not having enough load when LEDs are on the front and rear turn signals.

You'll need stronger resistors that create more load

I did the same to my 2017 1794 edition and had to get a bigger flasher relay to stop the hyper flashing even with resistors on the front and back. i soent a lot of money for the switchback blinkers to figure out that the 2017 doesn't use those for running lights but still installed because of the brightness of the blinker itself. I installed new LED Fogs, HID headlights, LED puddle lights, LED Interior, Reverse and LED brake lights. Looks like a Christmas Tree at night and when it unlocks can't even tell there is any glass in the truck. LOVE LOVE IT

I just snipped the purple wire to the amber drl. It got rid of the hyperflash, and now when the headlights are on, the amber turns off until the turn signal is activated. But amber drl function still works!

Do you have white/amber switchback bulbs?

I have a 50W 6ohm resistor on each side how much bigger do I need? Is a flasher relay better? Do you have a link to the right ones I should get?

Do you have the led switchbacks or just the amber?

Regular led amber, but I believe these work with switch backs. Shoot them an email

When I installed my switchbacks, I had connected the harness wrong. It seems intuitive but it’s actually tricky. Vled has a separate page on their website that shows this correct connection method for the resistors and ballasts.
Once I called them I switched around the connectors and they worked perfectly.

Yeah, like others said the voltage is off. Fast blinking means the truck thinks the bulb is out. Since you verified it isn’t, that means the truck isn’t getting the voltage reading it is expecting and giving an “error code”.

Maybe the leds take too much power and nothing is returned from the blinker when they are on? Or not as much power and regular headlights?
