    Hi everyone,

I've never done ANY off roading. I would like to start with just a little trail work. I want to start super easy. Maybe just really muddy and stuff nothing that is going to get me stuck, but enough to want to try using 4WD and maybe help understand 4LO.

Also, what should I take for an emergency bag. Anyway, any help or advice will be greatly appreciated. I'll try and be responsive as possible. At work for the day!

    Matt.

I would highly recommend either Spyder Lake ORV area or the Nemadji State Forest. You can go up to Askov and then take back / forest roads to link up with the ORV areas.

Also, get an ORV permit. $40 for two years...good times.

Not to be funny, but just go up north, and find any of the "minimally maintained" signed roads.

Gilbert MN has an off road park too.

If you just want gravel roads to drive, you can do laps around Carlos Avery wildlife park.
