    The one I owned in 1985 had a serial number in the AA600's ... I wish I had never sold it.

    I had a Gen 1 G17 for awhile.
    Probably should have kept if for a safe queen.
    But that Gen 1 grip texture is almost nonexistent.
    Like a holding a wet fish in a slightly sweaty hand.
    I ended up selling it to finance another purchase.

    As to the Gen 2 snobs, like me, I have a Gen 2 G21.
    Sent the slide and barrel off to CCR for CPII years ago.
