YES!! Very happy with it. I used D mode on the way to work yesterday. Feels solid, a bit firm but not annoying. Tow/Haul shifting hang up is gone!! Shift points are higher than D drive, then it upshifts. No hang ups, no delays. I will load the truck heavy again today for more testing. My truck is retaining the gear lock feature. I'll give it few more days and will data log.

I got the latest update to new logger and tune. gear lock in S mode worked as far as Im aware of as I did my data logging. I didnt really do much other testing for the gear lock. My question, which I asked in my follow up email to matt @OVTune was... what is my tow/haul mode now? Did it revert back to what it was before, is it the same tune as without tow/haul on...what is its purpose now?

I think that it's back to T/H behavior, but may also have GL functionality when you knock it over to S-Mode. You'll probably have to spend more time with it to be sure...or wait on Mat's reply.

Can someone clear up the logging process for me, so I know I’m doing it correctly. Do I connect, start recording, stop recording, then save? I don’t want to waste my time and send Mat a bunch of blank files

this is what i do.. others can chime in as well.

I do a few different logs on specific driving things I do. I first do a hot idle for 5 minutes. After uploading the tune, and idling the truck for 5 minutes, I restart the truck and start recording on the logger and then wait 5 minutes. I press stop and it auto saves the data. I add the file name hot idle, at the end.

then I do a 15 minute noral drive session. Start recording on the logger and then drive around for 15 minutes in normal traffic, doing normal driving things. push stop on the logger and again, add normal 15 minute drive to the end of the file name.

then again, press record and put truck into gear lock mode, second gear, and idle upto to 2k rpm.. mash the throttle to 3k then idle to 3k mash to 4k rpm. again, stop recording, add name change and then I do a couple speed passes.. 0 mph to 100 mph with the throttle mashed. Being S/C'd the start is a little rough with the spinning of tires, but you get the point. Then stop the log and change the name.

then I attach all the logs in the email and send.

This is what I send to Matt, and he hasnt asked for anything else. I suppose he can get a good read on what the truck is doing, both shifting and lean/rich issues across the board. I would be curious of others logging routine.

@OVTune I received the base tunes for 87 and 91 thank you. However, your email states that I would also have a stock ecu tune but that was not included. Can you please send that in case I need to flash back? Thanks

cant wait to get your feedback on the tune with the type of use/fun you get out of your ride. Some highway folks like me may never appreciate this tunes abilities offroad! Dont forget pics and Video demonstrating the tunes jump capabilities!!!

I'll definitely report back! I leave for a 4 day off road trip on Thu. I just filled up with 91, I'll run a little gas through the engine then install the base 91 tune this afternoon.

Biggest thing for me is removing the throttle restriction in 4wd. Thats gonna be huge.

@OVTune I have a few questions for you:

How do you want us to log? I didnt see instructions anywhere. How should I be driving the truck when I log? How many logs? How long? Do I log the 91 tune and also the 87 tune??

In my email I asked about retaining the oem red line limits but I didnt get an answer. Can you tell me what the red line limits are in the base tunes I received?

    Thanks Mat!

For those with the new version of the tune, should gear lock be engaged in "D" while the tow/haul button is on or should it only work in "S"?

So I cant install the new flashmanager 1.3.0. "VCRUNTIME140.dll not available. Reinstalling may fix this problem"

But it wont reinstall, tells me the directory already exists. If I uninstall and reinstall I get the same VC Runtime error.

I'm gonna reload windows and try again. But that means I have to reinstall all kinds of stuff fml

Some ECU's are not finished, including mine. So it could be that your gear lock works simply by shifting into sequential mode. Or you may still have to press the tow button.

If you have to press the tow button to activate the gearlock, it will gearlock in D also. At least that's the way mine works currently. Mat said some ECU's are finished, to where you don't need to press the tow button. Soon they will all work that way.

I think he includes in his emails if it works in a mode. If not, you will know pretty easily. Since this is your first tune, you probably will need to press the tow button for now. I could be wrong.

No. He does not mention this stuff in his email. He doesnt say anything:

    "Hello Alex
attached is a copy of our latest flasher which you will need to use for flashing the tune

A copy of the stock tune is attached labeled XXX
attached is two base tunes for two different fuels (87, and 91) which are appropriately labeled.

NOTE, it is critically important that you do NOT attempt to flash with low battery voltage (below 12.2), the software will tell you before flashing begins.
IF you get any errors(very rare) DO NOT shut the truck off, the software will prompt you there was an error and ask you to try again, click ok and try again. Keep trying until it does flash successfully.
(errors are extremely rare, we just tell this to everyone).

My truck is working like this: in D with tow/haul off, it drives normally. When I put it in S with tow/haul off, I get gear lock. In D with tow/haul on, I have gear lock. When I put it in S with tow/haul on, I have gear lock.

I'm just making sure this is the way my current ECU is. If it isn't, I've already emailed him saying that this is what is happening on mine, so he is made aware of it.

You have the base tunes. I'm not sure how your gear lock works... But most likely you will have to press the tow button. When you get your logger to work, pull some readings, normal around town driving, wot in D and a wot with the gears locked. When you send those back, if you don't already have gl tied to s mode, I'd just ask him when your ECU should have it that way. I imagine it won't be long.

You are coming in at the tail end of development for the tundra tune, so it shouldn't be long before it's complete.

Oh ok, so you are positive gl is working just by moving into s mode. Art64 thought the same thing for a while before it was even released... If it does, I'd just make sure to ask for something assigned to the tow button. Another octane or different settings for your current octane.

Edited... Sorry I've been up since 330

thank you for trying to help. I appreciate it.

But I paid Mat a lot of money for this product and I would like him to answer these questions so that I and everyone else knows exactly what we have in our tunes, how to data log properly, and how to install the new flash manager and logger.

I haven't asked for anything as far as different maps with the tow haul button, only that I have gear lock. I'm positive that gear lock works in "S" mode with tow/haul turned off. Either that, or it's not shifting right is my guess. I slap it in S, it goes into 4th and wont down shift when I floor it...it just goes up in RPM.

Awesome! So when you send logs, request something for the tow button. I plan on having it set to 87, just in case I get somewhere that doesn't offer 93 octane.

I personally don't use anything other than the lowest octane that is available. If I was really after more power, I'd get a supercharger (which I might eventually). I guess with the tune the tow/haul-ass button has become useless, lol.

For certain ECU IDs, this feature is still being worked on, as I said in a previous post I will be listing the finished, in progress, needed, IDs.

Please review our flash manager instructions / flash manager page / instructions page. The fix for this is on that page. https://www.ovtuned.com/pages/flash-manager

I believe I have also posted here a few times, but will post again.

    all we need is :
1x warm idle for a few minutes
1x casual driving around (normal driving)
2x full throttle pulls to the limiter or close to

With the exception being supercharged trucks that are in the process of tuning, you get specific logging instructions from me on what RPM to do your WOT pulls to.

As previously said, a bunch of times for people who do follow this forum. Some features are not automatically included in your tunes.

So that there is no future confusion, I'll add all optional features on that list.

When someone has a question regarding troubleshooting an issue, the first place to go is to our zendesk. not the forum. We will just end up in the same predicament as the tacoma guys. Refusing to contact us through the proper channels, and expecting all of your support on this board. I will not be doing that.
