Spectacular photos, Sean! I always race right to this thread when I see you have posted a series of great shots.

Dropping a lens has always been a concern of mine. Never done it yet but have come close at times when I'm in a hurry (airshows, etc.). I still have not developed a good system for safe handling. It would be cool to have a vest or something with large open pouches in the front to temporarily hold lenses during a change.

BTW, how do you like the 24-105 f/4.0 L lens? That lens has been on my short list for awhile. It has IS (Image Stabilizer) where the 24-70 f/2.8 L does not.

i've never had an issue changing lenses. the years i spent shooting for surfer where i had to change lenses near the ocean, on the beach or on a boat really helped. nothing like trying to stand in a small boat balancing a monopod with a 500 f/4. but, this was the first time i had my blackmagic out in the wild and i was still getting used to the release on the metabones adapter. just wasn't paying attention.

i have both the 24-70 and 24-105. L glass is L glass. color is good on both. i feel like the 24-70 has a bit more contrast in it. the IS on the 24-105 is nice and i use that lens mostly for motion work.

Just started messing with photography. I've had my Nikon for years but just started to really get into it. So I guess you could say it's a work in progress.

Will do. Thanks! I really have gravitated towards long exposure and landscape. I need to pull more of my edited photos out of Lightroom.

 

up and out early. needed some quiet. would have liked to been skiing but i wasn't about to fight traffic. instead snowshoed some fresh tracks in 12-15" of freshies. just me and the silence until i got caught by this group XC skiing.

 

so, bec is an actor/singer/dancer. dillen is an actor. roxy is a ballerina. and now, piper is coming into her own on stage as well.

she's currently playing trunchbull in local kids theater company production of matilda. her comedic timing is impeccable.



with 5 artist personalities in a single house, it's no wonder things around here get kinda sideways...

 

Is it anywhere near the Mountain Springs Grade ?

We've got a house in Puerto Rico so we visit this fort in Old San Juan quite often. Caught a shot of one of the last kites flying one evening over this summer.

Yeah always best to get the best shot the first time. Editing can do a lot, but folks who takes pictures a lot can tell what's been edited heavily or not. About to drop about 20 photos on here real quick lol. I travel....a lot

 

Overload a bit....but I travel a lot. These are just a few from my most recent pics from this year. I've got two 1TB external hard drives full of photos....so there's way too many to post lol. Hope yall enjoy.
