Hi everyone, first time actually posting on this forum. Seems like every time I check in on the forum my bank account decreases. So many nice trucks and new mods I want to do.

I am wondering if anyone has dealt with any motor issues after having their camshaft resealed.

The dealership did the reseal on both sides at 28,000 miles. I got my truck back and about 5,000 miles later it sounded like the passenger side had a ticking noise. Took it to the dealership twice and they finally agreed it was ticking. First it didn’t make the sound and second excuse was bad gas.

The dealership tore the motor apart and said it was a failed valve adjuster. Replaced 16 valve adjusters according to the service report. Toyota gave me a 120k platinum warranty because I complain enough I guess. About 7,000 miles later since the valve adjuster repair, the ticking noise is back.

I have seen a lot of stuff regarding the camshaft seal on the forum. I am just wondering if anyway has dealt with the ticking sound or had a bad experience with the reseal process. Hopefully this post isn’t redundant and thanks for any feedback.

Mine has a ticking noise and so did my 2007 truck. As far as I know, it's normal, but annoying. I am not going to worry about it until the warranty is close to running out. I have not had any cam tower leak.

I think there's another thread on here about how some folks were able to get the ticking to stop by switching to a different brand of oil.

Sorry to hear about your post-repair issues. Is the ticking noise apparent all the time or is it only under certain conditions (like a certain RPM)? Mine would consistently make a very noticeable ticking/whining noise under hard-ish acceleration. They opened the engine up twice more before I made a big enough stink and got them to buy it back, as @OR18TRD mentioned. They never did figure out what it was to my knowledge.
