Steering feels "loose" while turning left

Hi! I recently bought a used Tundra and didn't notice much at first but there seems to be some play ONLY while turning left. Going into right turns the truck feels very responsive and tight. But while taking left turns/curves it is very loose and sloppy feeling, almost over-responsive. It also has a slight pull to the left. Any ideas on what the culprit may be?

I would get an alignment shop to check it out. Could be that one side has some worn parts or that one side has completely different caster than the other. When you turn the kingpin doesn't move for and aft but your hub and wheel do. A difference in caster might make one side feel completely different compared to the other.

Another idea is sway bar end links. If one side is broken but still able to get wedge against the arm it might work as a sway bar when the wheel is trying to push that side up and then allow it to drop down without as much resistance.

Simply put, your truck is an ultra-conservative that feels any move to the left is a betrayal of principle that must be met with resistance. A lobotomy or exorcism may help, but I would first look to an alignment, especially if you notice more wear on the tire tread right of center (which may indicate your tires roll at an angle, "/").

Check your lug nuts too, just an over obvious suggestion, but doesn't hurt to check.

From an earlier post, as a means of explanation...

"As an alumni of the fictitious Don Rickles School of Charm and Diplomacy and adherent to Jonathan Winters philosophy of always meeting life with a big shtick, I must admit to seeing things in a view different than my peers...My advice, roll with it. With respect.":hattip:

I remember grandma telling stories of great gram working at a care facility for mentals and addicts. I guess Mr rickles was a regular. I wonder if he'd have suggested lobotomies for people with political views he didn't agree with. The world may never know.

Mr. Rickles would have goosed a tiger in the act of eating (put your favorite target here) if he thought the act humorous enough. No one was beyond his target of attention, which brought its own neutrality. Yeah, he was coarse at times, raw that made one think about it, yet the humor was there for the observant, and often self-depreciating. Same holds with Mr. Winters, another master of the put down, and the inspirational lift up, even more so than Mr. Rickles.

I am indeed a political animal, but as far as this forum goes, my political beliefs are not germane. For all practical purposes my position is one of neutrality, as I save my political rant for YouTube.:blahblah::poking:

lol I haven't checked this thread in days seems it has blown up a bit.

So the rack and pinion bushings were shot aswell as the sway bar bushings and one end link. Replaced rack bushings and just waiting for my links to show up in the mail. While messing around with the rack I noticed the steering shaft looked off so I snapped a couple pictures to see it better. At first I thought it looked broken but with further inspection in pictures it looks like it's identical on both side, as if that's how it was made. Anyone know if thats normal?
    Oh and yes.... shes rusty

It's not letting me post pictures....

It sounds like an alignment problem.
