Some questions for the group. I have a 2019 SR5 and I am done with the stock radio situation. As I am on a lease (with every intention of buying it out at the end) I am using my stealership to do the upgrade. They will warranty the Alpine 9 inch head unit. They have 2 versions... 1 expensive and 1 other even more expensive. The higher priced version will display gauge info etc. (which I don't really need). I am assuming this is the Halo system but I am in the process of getting more info.
My questions; Members impressions of this system?
Also considering upgrading the sound system as well. I have the base model sound system.
All suggestions are welcome and thank you

Just a follow up. The Alpine Ilx-F309 head unit is the answer IMHO.
Pricey but a fabulous alternative to the crappy base model radio. Apple carplay, HDMI, around 20 watts per channel more power and more options than I care to play with.
If you are unhappy with the stock radio, go with the Halo!

I got the halo unit from James. The kit had everything that I needed for the install. The head unit does 'wake up' the stock JBL speakers but it's still the stock JBL speakers. I recently got a speaker and amp kit from James and now the truck is rocking!

I like the halo. It has a big screen for my old eyes and works well with google maps. It does have a ton of features that I wont use but they are available if I want them. I also hooked up an Amazon fire stick and my wife can watch her shows on trips.

Agreed! There are more features than I need. I had a fellow named James, who is the certified installer from the stealership where I bought the truck do the installation So everything is covered under the warranty. I am also having a front facing camera installed that will be available on the display so that I can park this monstrous beast without having to get out every five minutes and check how close I am. The halo has 20 W per channel more power than the stock radio, so that is good enough for me and I do not need to do the speaker upgrade. It is just great to have the Apple CarPlay and all of the added functionality in a truck that cost me $40,000. Toyota let me down on the purchase but now I am all set.
    I love this truck!

It's solid and doesn't rattle. I don't have any issues.
