Everyone keeps posting “20,000 miles and no issues”. “2014... should last me 5 or 6 more years...” I wanna hear “120,000 miles and no issues”. “2014... should last me 10 or 15 more years.” I hope these trucks are going further than 80K and 10 years.

My truck will be 5 in March. Only have 30,530 on the clock. Sorry I’m no help.

See! I sure hope no one is having issues at 30,000 miles. My daughter’s bicycle with tassels has more miles on it than that. I’m giving up on my old ford at 173,000. And I’m selling it to someone as a beater plow/dump run truck. I was hoping I’d do better than that with this new truck.

The fact that I have low miles doesn’t mean these trucks don’t go much longer than that. There are plenty around here with high miles.

Ahh she’s just getting broken in. Just stay up on the maintenance. The trucks aren’t impervious to issues as with any vehicle, so they always seem amplified when you look them up on the forum. But as a majority they go a long time.

Couldn't agree more! We should expect vehicles with fewer than 200,000 miles to have zero issues, especially in 2019. 5 years isn't much of a window unless someone is always on the highway and really racking up the miles.

You should make a poll on this thread... 100K no issues, 200K no issues, 300K etc. Maybe add 100K with problems, 200K with problems.

I fall into the exact category you mentioned in your first sentence, so nothing to contribute here.

My '07 had 180000 before the accident.
My '14 has 91,000 and I don't have any concerns about it making another 300,000+ miles.

I purchased it with 270,000 miles and zero service records a little over two years ago. It was used as a farm / work truck towing & hauling heavy loads off road, the underside was caked with red Georgia clay and gravel from where it had bottomed out in ruts. I replaced the fuel pump within the first two months of ownership, and freshened up the suspension, fluids, filters, spark plugs... I drive the piss out of it on pavement, and I love the torque the 5.7L makes.

I keep hearing about Toyota reliability. I know there are two million-mile Tundras, and that’s outstanding, but let’s face it; 2 isn’t exactly the a be all/end all of sample size. I bought this truck because of its reputation for reliability and I hate buying trucks. This forum has the numbers for a real sample size.

I have read post of a few 2nd generation 5.7L trucks with 800,000 miles and more, but those guys don't post much because they are always driving.

The 2014 is the same exact powertrain since 2007, and is still the same today with the 2020 models. Do you really think Toyota would continue to make the same thing for over 13 years if there were issues?

It's also found in the Sequoia, Land cruiser and lx570.

You might think this forum has the sample size to help you sleep better at night, but look at the number of active members versus tundras sold. The tundra drivers with higher mileage are likely too busy to be posting on silly internet forums ;)

Oh I totally agree. The reason I decided to go Toyota in the first place was reliability. I have a Yaris with 235K on it. All I’ve ever done to that car was tires, wipers, belts (3), brakes (once), and regular oil changes. I know there are two million-mile Tundras, and that’s great, but I’m not a hot-shot driver. I’m a small farmer and I use my truck to haul tractors, plow my drive, haul my boat upta the big lakes, drive down those muddy trails to get to my favorite fly-fishing hole or bird hunting field, and bring home cord wood a half a cord at a time. Occasionally we get feet of snow and I have that kind of job I where I can’t not go. In fact the worse the weather gets the more I’m needed at work.

I posted this to give regular guys like myself a chance to brag about their ordinary truck. To some, the big lift kits, fancy wheels, aftermarket exhausts and all that hoopla is impressive. To me, a truck that’s been USED and is still kickin’ is impressive. I can brag about all the crap I’ve put my old Ford through but this is a Tundra site and I’m new to the Tundra world. So I wanna hear about those regular guys who haul hay, plow a 600’ driveway, once pulled a front end loader 5 miles, have 150,000 miles and only replaced the ball joints once, have 200,000 miles and still passing inspection, or pulled the oil truck out of a snow bank one bad winter.

Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy the upgrade stuff, it’s neat. But for me, a homemade set of bed racks on a 5 year old stock truck with 100,000 miles of work and fun is where it’s at.

And oh yes! Both of those million-mile Tundras are drool worthy. I’d pay to drive one just a few hundred feet.

I bought the Falcon with 108k on her. I did replace the wipers, oil changes w synthetic, just put 4 tires on hence the low air light I'm assuming coming from the spare. If it had a sun roof in it my wife would of taken it.
