JBA long tube the gaskets that come with them “do not work” there are remflex 1/4” thick gaskets and you need to run air pump delete kit, ad length to 3 sensors, take heat shields off cats cut the front end off weld on collectors then I took to a muffler shop had dual ran out each side with dual in dual out flow master 500 bucks. it does add some hp

Where do you live? I have been considering doing long tubes but not sure if I could pass our emissions in Utah. Anyone have any info on that?

How can long tubes fail emissions? As long as you keep the cats it should be fine. Right??

I thought there was more to it than just that. Definitely not my area of expertise. In the learning stages.

There are 5 counties in Utah that require emissions out of 29, if you keep cats sensors there is no reason it would fail, it says if you don’t have a cat they are supposed to tell you it’s missing

Ok so this is exactly the setup we were just talking about I think. So you used the 00-04 headers with the air bypass lit right? Seems like an easy way to save a couple hundred bucks over the 95-96 headers. Could you make a thread and do a detailed write up? Several of us are wanting to do this set up.

As long as they don't notice any missing emissions equipment and there's no code it should pass. No tailpipe tests in Utah that I've heard of on obd2 vehicles. They just visual and plug it in.

If you live in CA you can fail the visual. Most places won't look but if they do and you don't have a CARB compliant document for the headers you're getting flagged, cats or not.

My old smog guy was a hot rodder at heart, he didnt care what I did. My new smog guy picked on my factory intake tube because it has a sticker on it. After I explained it he was cool.

Hey guys, new to the club. I picked this up in July. It's an 06 SR5 with the I force V8. The wheels are called Tuff, I'd never heard of them but they look cool. It had 80K, 1 owner, garage kept, frame recall done and they undercoated it for me (live in costal Massachusetts). Been loving it so far. Had a leak in the power steering that cost a bit to diagnose/fix but other than that it's been great. Excited to join the team, was a Ford guy for the last 15 years. Thanks!!

Welcome! Nice come up! You won’t miss the groan of the power steering!!! I miss my 85 f150 straight 6 with long tubes, and my 88 ranger, but I’m over all the monkey business that came along with them! I plan on running the two yotas we have, into the ground, or letting my kids do that when it’s their turn
