    personal plow, tool box,
My center console is like the pit of no return. It’s just a massive hole in the center of the truck. I like that it’ll hold my depth finder... possibly even my whole boat... but it would be nice if it was two tiered. Is that what this tray does?

Yeah, I haven't found a tray that I think is actually perfect [or even good?].

I got another one. I think which one you want [Amazon has numerous ones], depends upon what you want to put in it [because they have different shaped interior boxes].

I've got some putty stuff that was made to hold things to walls: I rolled a little out in a thin line and put it under the overlapping edges of the tray [the outer edges it sits on in the console] to keep it from sliding back when I'm on an incline.

I have this one. It's great; plenty of spots for change and it lifts out easily enough, yet doesn't budge otherwise.

so do you essentially have to pick up the entire tray to get to the stuff underneath? or is it hinged?

I know, kind of a dumb question, but then, i'm dumb

Yes, you have to pick up the entire tray, though you can lift from the front and tilt it. I find that my frequently used stuff is up top, so it works well.

I went with this same divider system after loving it in my 4runner. I was able to neatly organize everything that used to be in the 4runner center console PLUS 4runner passenger door pocket PLUS 4runner glove box minus the owners manual PLUS a roll of TP and some baby wipes just in case! This center console is amazing but totally useless unless grid-ed off. The Tundra salex divider is much nicer than the 4runner or rav4 dividers for some reason, it didn't require cleaning up the sharp edges and looked much more nicely finished.

Having one that holds the coins is a must. I can't tell you how many times I've lifted up my organizer and the coins went rolling out...haha.
