How do I remove swirl and scratches from my gauge cluster so annoying. Used a microfiber to wipe away dust and I can see only in direct sunlight

I would go back to the dealer and ask them to fix it, but do so nicely. I'm surprised they'd sell a CPO truck with such a poor respray. I'm sure they have body shop relationships and could get it done relatively easy. If they say no outright, could always see if they'll split with you.

You are very right, this is too much good info to get lost in the mix. Maybe a mod can pin this or quote it into the OP of this thread? @T-Rex266 @ColoradoTJ @Pinay ?

I appreciate the compliments, but these are just my opinions. I’m nowhere near an expert on this stuff, and I’m sure plenty of people would disagree. There’s a lot of legitimate ways to get the results you want.

Its fairly easy, however it requires some elbow grease. You will need some masking tape, a few microfiber towels, and a light to medium polish, something like plastic X from Meguiar's will do the trick

    1. You will need to mask surrounding areas where the you don't the polish to get on.
    2. Put a dab of the polish on a section of the MF towel (could be a corner). A little goes a long way.
    3. Put the section with polish of the MF towel on your fingers and Start going around the surface covering as much as you can. There is no need to apply much pressure, make sure you do multiple passes.
    4. Once done, get a clean MF towel to wipe off the excess.
    5. Inspect the area, if you are not satisfied, repeat steps 2-4 until you achieve the desire result.
    6. Remove masking.

    Dear Detailer.
How do I get rid of the gritty sound when rolling down my windows? I've tried dry lube, silicone spray, etc and have had no luck. This typically happens after a rainstorm too.

    Thanks!

After I’m done I spray a little griots pad cleaner on the pad, work it in with my hands while rinsing with water.

Some water and a little bit of ONR or another soap. Rinse by hand.

Never heard of this brand, and I’d be very careful about which one to go with. @Pudge would love to tell you about his experience with a lesser known brand of ceramic.

Carpro CQuartz is probably the most recommended around here. Well known product, great service, and not overly difficult to apply.
There is a good bit of labor involved, as you need to do a very thorough paint correction to get the best results. I personally would rather go a different route, but that’s because I love doing the work. If you don’t enjoy washing, waxing or applying sealant to your vehicle, then it may be the right thing for you.

Ceramic coatings are a very worthy investment on any vehicle, they provide not only hydrophobic properties, but also anti-static and UV protection for your paint, all with the added benefit of making your washes much easier and less time consuming. A good coating will provide you with at least 2 years of protection, if it properly maintained after its application. No wax will ever provide you with that much protection without having to be applied every month.

A highly recommended brand, and one that I've used on my personal and clients vehicles, is CarPro cquartz UK 3.0. Great longevity and very forgiving at the moment of applying it.

Thanks for the info. By labour would clay bar and polishing be sufficient? My truck is brand new (black) but I did make the mistake of using the local car wash so just did a hand polish job to remove as many swirls as I could, plan on waxing tomorrow. I'm 65 and my elbows aren't what they used to be.:(

PS, I see there is a shop in Calgary AB 40 miles away that sells carpro products. A visit may be in order.:)
