I had a local shop give me a price to upgrade head unit, dash tweeters, door speakers and install a powered sub under the seat. Quote was for $2,300. All Alpine components, the four speakers were R-series. Labor was $690.
That’s more than I want to spend. I’m thinking perhaps install the four speakers myself and see how that helps. Maybe do the Alpine powered sub as well but keep the oem HU?
Open to suggestions to get a better sound without breaking the bank. Maybe someone has had the similar question. My truck is a Regular cab, SR5. Thanks.

My 2010 has a Pioneer NEX 8200 running a 4 channel amp to the doors, speakers are from a local place, called Robot Underground, seriously amazing an adapter running out to the JBL dash speakers and a Pioneer mono amp running James' 10" sub. Sounds great. I did all the labor. I'm about 1400 all in.

With your 8200, are you able to see some of your vehicle info (tire pressure, temps, etc.) via the pioneer?

Cool, I’ve got the same head unit and wanted this feature. Got any ideas of what it takes to install this maestro rr? I already have working steering wheel controls, which I thought Maestro was for. Figured since you knew enough to install your system, which is damn near identical to mine, you may know this. Thanks

I did the steering wheel controls with these:
    https://www.crutchfield.com/p_120ASWC1/Axxess-ASWC-1-Steering-Wheel-Control-Adapter.html
    https://www.crutchfield.com/p_120708114/Metra-70-8114-Steering-Wheel-Control-Harness.html

I assume the maestro wires into the HU & then to the OBD2 port but I am not missing anything from the truck so did not care about doing Maestro.

    A quick search found this:

It offers nothing I care about. If I had a 3rd gen with TPMS and other needed integration and other features it would be different but on my 2010 no need.

New speakers will net very little if anything. A new 50 watt HU would net much more, then install some new speakers.
