Hey all! Happy to be here! Been lurking for a while, figured it was time to create an account and contribute.

So I recently installed the OEM Audio Plus JBL Enhancement kit in my Tundra, and the sound quality is amazing! I am completely satisfied with all aspects of the kit, except for the subwoofer. Maybe I have too high of expectations, maybe not. It seems even when the gain control knob is turned to max for the sub, that it barely puts out any bass. I am getting more bass from the front door speakers than the sub. When I play a song with considerable bass, the sub doesn't even move. I can feel it vibrate a little, but that's about it. I received a line output converter from OEM Audio yesterday, and am just awaiting instructions on how to install.

Also, OEM Audio has been great. Daniel and Sandy have been really great to work with.

Would anyone with the JBL Enhancement kit be able to chime in with their experience? Are my expectations too high, or do I have an issue that needs correcting?

I appreciate all the responses and look forward to getting to know y'all!

What does OEM+ have to say about it?
You should be able to hear the bass from the sub. Blow up a balloon and hold it with your hands in a couple of inches from the sub and feel the sound to see how much is coming out.

    And welcome from Sacramento

They have been helpful in helping to manage my expectations, and maybe that is all it is. They have sent me a line output converter to help with the subwoofer output, but I haven't installed it yet. I am told that the limiting factor is the factory JBL amplifier; and OEM Audio is apparently working on designing a new amplifier that would be able to replace it.

I just wanted to hear other's experience of the Enhancement kit, just to ensure that it isn't the equipment I received, but just my expectations.

Gotcha. According to the page, you should be getting 100w rms to the he sub. That's not going to shake the earth, but you should be able to hear it. Are you sure that power is getting to the sub?

The sub is getting power. If I turn the gain control knob max, it does create some bass, but not what I would expect. And the sub itself doesn't even move.

at 100w rms, it should be moving the sub. Try the balloon thing I said in my first reply.

Received the line output converter from OEM Audio and got it all installed. It really makes a big difference in the performance of the subwoofer. Working exactly how I thought it would. Appreciate the help brother!

EDITED TO ADD **WOWSA, I NEED TO REMEMBER TO LOOK AT ORIGINAL POST DATE WHEN USING SEARCH**

hey heff, there are a lot of us members on these forums in and around houston / san antonio / dallas. you wouldn't just happen to be one of those members, would ya?

been doing a lot of research and the oem audio+ jbl enhancement is at the top of my list for my '19 limited w/ jbl "upgrade". mostly because i can do the install; i dont like the idea of someone else doing work on my pickup.

would really like to give a listen before purchase. hoping to make this a christmas gift to myself.

    couple of questions for you.

what type of music do you listen? i am mostly 80's hits, and classic rock of the 70's. don't want to rattle the doors off, but do enjoy seeing the rear view mirror bump a little when i turn it up.

when you turn it up, can you hear or feel any sub bump outside your pickup? i do understand that it is only an 8", and only 100w rms, however, i have seen some JL audio 8" subs "dance".

did you install the one sub, or opt for the double?
