Think I saw a group buy on Northstar batteries in the forum, I just bought one before the group buy, oh well. Love the Northstar so far tho.

I really wanted in on that group buy for Northstar, but having a hard time wanting to spend $300 on a battery. I think I’m just going to go to Costco and spend under 100 on an interstate 27F. My stock battery is almost 5 years old. Still going strong but I don’t trust it.

This is the one I’m thinking of going with. Nothing to spit at! Obviously it’s not the best battery in the world like the north star. But I think it’ll get the job done.

I had one in my 06 TBSS and one in my wife’s 08 XB right now. They always seemed like a good battery.

Is there any concern over the 2 year warranty? Seems like all of the other batteries have a 3-5 year warranty for the same price or less.

$116 for am AGM battery? I haven’t seen that anywhere.

You’ll pay $116 for a basic 2yr lead acid battery.

As for the warranty question, just have it claimed out and get a new one before your 2 years is up. At least that’s what the local Pep Boys manager told me he would do.

Is it the absolute best battery? No

Is it the absolute worst? No

Is it relatively affordable and extremely cheap in cost for $116? Yes

AGM batteries typically outlast lead acids. Typically.

I would tend to agree with most things.. but a dead battery out in the middle of no where can get you no where fast. IMO, brand matters for things like this.

Champion are made by the same manufacturer of a majority of batteries

    Johnson Controls

There’s nothing to be concerned about there. Many different brands have their stickers put on them, but are all made in the same factory.

FYI upon getting home and looking at the the paperwork on my battery, it says 4 year warranty.

I’m not beating up anybody or getting at working anyone into frenzy

Nor am i wishing to derail the thread

I am only pointing out,in my opinion, another affordable quality option for those who may be interested

I run a single Odyssey 34r. I run a fridge off of it, sometimes on for 8+ hours without a charge on the battery. I also run multiple lights and power accessories while the vehicle is off and have never had an issue. I'll finish a solar build and second battery this spring.

Yes, that is the right battery for your truck in more ways than one. ;)
