I've tried to figure out any other ways to fit a sub behind the rear seats and as far as I can tell there just isn't enough room without moving the seats forward about 1-2" so there's more room behind the seats when they are flipped up. If the seats flipped forward like they do on the Tacoma, we'd be in business!

So, here's what I did with the sub I used(Kenwood P-XW804B). I still have storage and I'm happy with the sound. You could cut the lid if you want it back on, I just left it off as you'll see in the pics. The sub is too high to leave the lid on.

I cut a chunk out of the storage box so both the box and sub fit under the drivers side.

You lose a little bit of room but you still have lots of storage.

If you do this too, I'd recommend you put something around the edges to prevent things from sliding under the sub and ruining it.

I put my gloves and micro-texture cloths around it. They won't fall under. :)

    Space behind sub.

    Cheers!

I got brackets made to move the seats up. Adjustable lengths. Once I install I’ll post a thread

What did you come up with for where the seat back attaches to the back wall?

Under my seat is full with the Milwaukee 18v collection so under the seats not an option. Tools for work surly beats the bass. With power seats there isn’t room below the fronts either. Amazon has a few self powered subs. Going to get the exact dimensions tomorrow. I think there are options that will work behind.

Make sure you have the bottom seat folded up as well when you take measurements, space goes down to nothing. Going on 3 years in my DC and the forums and I have never yet seen a sub behind the seat in a DC. I wish you luck.

I’d love to be the first. I did the back seat mod thanks to this forum. Didn’t go crazy measuring but I did sit on top of the seat just to see. The bottom edge is much tighter at the flip but with these shallow subs and tapered boxes.... tomorrow is judgement day.

I even thought on mounting these extremely shallow boxes in or on the back of the vertical back seat. There is quit a bit more space here.

Any thoughts on sub tubes? Will they fit on the floor against the back wall?

Plenty of storage options, and still put sub box under the seat.

For $150 I guess it can’t be that good. Reviews are amazingly good though. Self powered, seat fully functions and it’s really not taking up any space I’d miss. The test fit went well. I may just buy a second now and power them all at once. E28932F9-1115-4C01-84D1-3E642346773D.jpg 5A31C313-F966-4354-9FC2-CD160DB65B11.jpg

Here's my Infinity 10" sub behind the rear seat of my 2017 CM. James @tech12volts does an awesome sub enclosure. I got mine during an Infinity/Hertz group buy that he offered a couple of months ago. Can't say enough good things about James, his integrity, and his quick response when you need help or advice if any kind.

Oops! Sorry! Just reread the thread... You were asking about a DC, not a CM.

Anyway, if it is possible, James would know how. Contact him for advice.

    Bass, bass, bassss!

Something I wanted to say to others is that I use the sht out of my under seat storage in the double cab. Flipping the seat all the way up is nice but if you can flip it to say 2 o’clock instead of 12 you do have room for a narrow box. With the back seat mod 2 o’clock is where my seat unlatches at. Still have access, ability to use the storage and get to fit a larger box. Plus the seat still stays up on its own. The only trouble I found was the width between the seatbelts is around 13” so it would most likely have to be a custom box.

I just placed my order from ********* for the door speakers, amp, amp rack, wiring. Also have the second pioneer sw11 on the way. Hope it goes together easily and the bass is good!

I ran an idmax in my 08 doublecab, speaker lived right behind console, most of the airspace of the box under the seat. It pounded. I miss having a good stereo in my tundra.
