This is how my Leer XL is clamped.

I may replace with these as it will let me move the position of the clamps, which has been a problem a couple of times.
    Nice find.

Yeah they seem pretty solid and well engineered. Does your XL have a small “tab” of fiberglass that the bolt goes down through into the T nut? Just trying to confirm so I can explain to dealer.

Yes, and I wish it didn't. It has interfered with a couple of things I wanted to do, and it makes it so the T-nut can't be moved in the bed track.
Once I get some of the clamps, I will probably cut the circular section that sticks out for the bolt to go thru with a Dremel.

I had my Leer 100XR installed Jul '16 -- options added: Thule rack and square bars, light, front drop down and sliding window, headliner, single hanging rail, single, light. It was $2212, minus a $225 factory discount. $50 for a 7-way harness for clean install to tap in to the harness for the hitch plug (e.g. no splicing). The dealer didn't charge extra for clamp to attach to factory rail. It looks to be just a washer on top (see pic).

I would recommend getting a strip of PPF where the back glass hits the tail gate. My paint started rubbing off before I noticed and applied the PPF.

I just noticed that the right side is a bit closer to the truck side (about 1/4 inch gap), than left (5/8 inch gap). Not sure if it has shifted or if it was like that when installed. When it gets warmer, I am going to try and loosen the clamps and even it out so it doesn't have a chance to rub the paint.

Edit: Based on a bolt and washer system, I don't think you can re-position the location on the rail where it attaches.

Correct, unless you get some of the clamps JNome noted above.

So the frame-less rear door (100XR) is the higher priced trim level? Is it just a styling thing? It would seem to me the framed rear door of the 100R would be the upgrade. I got a quote for both with the 100XR being $200 more. The only difference I can find is the framed vs frame-less door and the 2 handle vs. 1. Not sure it's worth $200. What am I missing?

That's pretty much it. It's obviously subjective on the looks, but if you like the double hinge framed style of the R better than the XR then you might as well save the money!

It seems to me the double handle has a better design to let water out on the two corners vs the single. But doesnt look as nice so its a toss up.

Also on a recent visit to get new seals on my rear door dealer said Leer now owns Snugtop. But they are still manufacturing at their own facility.

IMG_0173.jpg I paid $1680 installed for the 100R before taxes. Very happy with the look, fit, color match and was delivered and installed in about 2.5 weeks. Also got a free carpeted headliner.
Has sliding windows on each side with screens and double t handles with locks on lift gate, third brake light and a battery operated dome light. Dome light is the only negative of the model. To be upgraded with leds in future. It was installed with J hooks directly into the cargo hold down rails. I installed the hold downs prior to the cap install. Yes, the cap is on a 8' 1" bed.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I’m wondering what the access is like of the sliding side windows on the XR on a Crew max? I am thinking about getting one with the flip-up side windows so I can access the bed easier but I’m wondering if the slide windows would be just as well without the extra expense. My old truck has the flip up side windows and I love them. But the bed is a little longer.

Anybody have any pictures of their XR side windows open?

If you're frequently needing to access from the side I'd definitely get the flip-up windows. The sliding windows would give you a little less than half the access (when open, the windows stick out a couple inches past the middle divider), plus you'd have to climb inside to open them every time. You'd also have to ask for no screens or remove them as the sliding windows come with screens.

Ok. Bummer. I really like the key fob locking, but getting flip up side windows will negate that feature somewhat. Thanks

You won't have nearly the same access. With just the sliders, you won't get much more access than just getting it out from the liftgate.

I didn't get windoors on my Tacoma when I got a Leer 100XR in 2012. I did for the Tundra. If you already have windoors, I think you'd regret it. Here's both and you can see how much more access you get.

They have a good warranty... after 16 years on my 2002 Tundra, my 8 foot LEER 122 was returned to the factory for warranty repair or replacement.

    IMG_2004.jpg

They replaced it with this 100R at no charge.

I got a new window when the first one was leaking on my Tacoma. I think they can just replace the slider with a windoor.

Just had the dealer initiate a transfer to get a Tundra for me today. Shopping for a cap. Could someone take a measurement of the vertical clearance between the bed/tailgate and the top opening of the cap? Trying to figure out if I can fit a slider in with bicycles mounted on fork mounts and have it clear the cap in and out. Or will I have to buy one of the mid-rise caps?

Bikes won't fit unless it's a kid's bike. You'll need one of those taller caps. Not for me, but lots of people have them.

The hinges on my 100XR window are freezing, which is a pain in the ass. I can turn the handle which pulls the cable, but it won't release the window at the hinge. It's happened a couple times after freezing rain or snow. Thaws out and works fine. Second time my scraper was back there after a ton of snow. I never had this issue with my other 100XR, but that truck sits in the garage.

And I have some leaking inside from the roof rails, but that's my fault. Going back in next week.

Ordered a 100XR today. Has anyone done any additional lighting beyond what comes from the factory that they can share?

Good photo. Helps seeing this to make a decision. I am unable to make up my mind with either a SnugTop or Leer. Looks like the snugtop design drops a little below the truck bed, covering the lettering on the side of the truck, from what i have seen.
