P&S brake buster + IronX

I decided to make up my own concoction to clean my plasti dipped wheels. Its about 75% brake buster and 25% gyeon iron remover. This worked out really well. It is by far the best cleaning solution I have used on my dipped wheels. The brake dust really embeds itself into the textured areas of dip and looks terrible. I recommend it for sure. The ratios could be altered for your needs and I'm sure I'll play around with it another time.

No doubt the iron remover made it a stronger cleaner.

 

I may need to give this a try. I have a gallon of Megs Iron Remover because I got it cheap. Any thoughts on how that compares to Iron X?

 

I used gyeon iron for this mix and it worked well.
For a stand alone iron remover I have not found anything as powerful and effective as the Original CarPro IronX, but they are all pretty good. If you got a deal on something I say this mixture is the perfect use for it

 

I tried griots wheel cleaner and wasn't impressed. I'll give brake buster a try.

Ive been trying to find something that was a good as that German stuff (can't remember the name), that I bought along with waxaddict. That stuff worked really well. Spray on and power wash off.

 

Next time I will try the brake buster on its own, I really should have done a split of 2 tires vs 2 tires with and without the IronX. Oh well something to try next time

 

Maybe Sonax? That stuff gets great reviews and I think they now make an extra strong version with iron remover.

Yeah that's bad ass stuff from what I hear. Nothing like it, some day I'll pony up and buy some.

 

Its on my list of things to watch for on BF. Probably will get the big hug as you use a decent amount each time.

 

It is by a long shot, but a lot more expensive and a much harsher chemical. It’s not necessary to use something that strong most of the time. I keep it in reserve for really nasty wheels. Brake Buster does the job unless it’s a really filthy wheel.

If anyone comes across a deal on IronX let me know. I realized my stock is low, I have plenty of time to shop around though, which is good that I could maybe find some cheap

 

Not like it’ll damage your wheel, just may not be the best thing to use on coated ones.

 

I saw that it said "acid free" so I figured it would be gtg.
Any idea what chemicals are in the stuff?
