Foam Cannons - There is a Difference!

I bought the cheap Amazon

DUSICHIN SFL-001 foam cannon a couple of months ago. Mediocre results with my electric pressure washer. I tried upgrading it by using a different nozzle with a 1.1 MM orifice- no luck with that. I borrowed my son's Chemical Guys Torque cannon over the weekend and used the same pressure washer. The difference was amazing. I got a nice thick layer of foam with it. You really do get what you pay for! I am sure that other higher cost cannons will also do a great job.

 

At first I saw you were using an electric pressure washer, and I thought that was where your problem was. The fact that you got better results using the same PW on an expensive cannon is interesting though. My cheap Amazon one has no problem making a nice thick layer of foam, and if it ever goes out I would buy it again. I could buy 4 of them for cost of one of the others.

 

My electric washer only puts out 1.2 GPM. I was surprised at the difference between the 2 cannons.

 

I got the one off Amazon as well and had mixed feelings, until I dialed in the settings on it and got it where, I think, it should be. I'm happy with the $20.00 I spent.

 

I have an electric pressure washer, and a cheap Amazon foam cannon. I’ve gotten excellent results from both. My pressure washer is 2200 psi, and 1.3 gpm.

 

We use both at my shop, I'd never be able to tell the difference, other than my pocket being an extra $60 lighter from the CG brand.

 

Same results here. I have the cheap Amazon one and my in law has the Chem guys expensive one. He was so pissed when he saw mine he wished he could return it.

Save your money and get the Amazon one

 

I wanted the cheap gun from Amazon to work. I am going to give it one more try this week. I have adjusted all of the settings previously but got very little foam. I bought a 3/4" garden hose this weekend and will see if the additional water volume makes any difference.

 

are you using the same soap, and soap to water amounts for the test?

 

whats the gun from Amazon? I am curious if it will work with my harbor freight electric pressure washer.

 

I bought this one. Used it with an electric pressure washer @2200 PSI. Worked great.

I use a cheap ass Amazon foam cannon with Adams Soap and a Rigid 2800PSI gas pressure washer.

Never a problem laying down THICK soapy foam.

I use this one from Amazon I believe I paid $35 and is amazing really thick layer of foam all the time I use it with my 3000psi Ryobi gas pressure washer even with my 2100psi electric washer

I believe that's the one I have too. Mine doesn't have any logos on the bottle though.

 

I got this one and it works great with my sun pro electric.

 

Have the same setup. Once you figure out your soap ratio and where your nozzle adjustment and water to soap on the top, works great.

I have absolutely zero problems with my under $20 MATCC foam gun from Amazon using my karcher electric power washer. I truly believe spending more is a huge waste

 

pardon my ignorance, but do you just put regular car wash soap in the reservoir and use it to soap up the car? Assuming you still need to use a sponge/brush to work the dirt off? Then disconnect the foam and rinse with the normal pressure washer wand?

Off topic: Are you guys shutting down the pressure washer between soaping/rinsing, or just trusting that unloader valve doohickey that is supposed to keep the pump from getting too hot?

 

I fill the bottle with hot water almost to the top then an ounce or 2 or soap. Then foam the car and let it dwell on there for a few minutes. Then rinse off. Sometimes i will foam it again and do my 2 bucket wash as normal but the car is foamed, this doesnt work when its hot outside.
I leave my power washer on the whole time, it shuts off when I release the trigger. I use an electric unit.

 

Yes...regular car soap in the cannon. I use the first soak as a pre-wash...then re-foam the car for the one bucket/multiple mitt hand wash. I don;t have to shut off my electric (SunJoe SXP3000)...the pump stops running when I let go of the trigger
