I have been seeing a lot of threads on debadging but now how to do it, I have never debadged a vehicle but want to start with removing the SR5 on this one. Any tricks? Just get a crowbar and pry ;) ?

A couple of ice cubes and a nine iron.

Actually fishing string, blow dryer, and goo gone. Might have to buff behind where it was at.

2017-03-02 18.42.29.jpg people lied or i suck at debadging. Took off the iforce badges this afternoon. Heated, fishing line all that good stuff. The residual adhesive, there was a ton, nearly took my fingers off trying to get it off. Loads of goo gone and still some outline remaining.
I assume the lettering might be easier with more edges and less adhesive.

Yes, the I-Force is a pain since it has so much coverage. The Letters should be much easier.

If you don't have fishing line use dental floss. That's what I used to debadge my MX5.It works great. I haven't done my new truck yet.

Everyone should invest in one of these. Use heat, and fishing like to get the badge off. Then this to use on the glue remaining- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pHpmFnqDX5w. Did all of my TRD Logos on the bed side, and also all badges around the truck. Still have 3/4 of the wheel left. This is what my buddy uses at his autobody shop when he repaints the local cop cars to strip all their town logos.

30$ on Amazon Prime- Worth it all day https://www.amazon.com/3M-Stripe-Wheel-Mandrel-Diameter/product-reviews/B00063VT0G

I used this to take the pin strip off my truck. Awesome tool. I might try to use it on my badge area bc I have outlines left and they drive me nuts.

Thank you everyone for all the info the wheel worked great. Also fishing line, hair dryer, and goo gone worked well. I would add a plastic door removal tool to this list for the Iforce badge. I tried fishing line several times and it kept breaking(granted I wasn’t using 100lb test). I used the fishing line on the corners enough to get the plastic wedge behind. I kept heat on it from hair dryer and it gradually released without using fishing line. Fishing line worked like a charm on all the other badges. I would also add some nufinish wax. I used it to get rid of the outlines someone was talking about.

I’m going to at least lose the TRD decals. Didn’t really want them to start with and I’ve got something better to replace them with. The new decal won’t cover the area entirely so I’m worried about ghosting. Truck is 6 years old and spruce green.

First thing I "de-badge" from my truck was the dealer stickers they put on the back end of the truck. :)

They don't pay me to advertise for them so why should I leave THEIR stickers on MY truck!!

I plan to remove all other badges soon. The clean look without badges looks sweet!!
