So I have a 05 tundra sr5 limited an I put in a sound system with an aftermarket radio by cutting my stock harness (bad way to go ik), but it was working fine for months an now it won’t turn on not even power to the amp. I’ve checked fuses I’ve checked all my wires I’ve redone my wires an still nothing what can I do to make it look an work better than before

One time I did this on my ranger. I went to a junk yard and got the stock harness and rewired it

your best bet is find a wiring diagram and a pin out of connectors and repair the harness. then use the proper adapter harness.

If you have power and it won't come on check your ground. Either that or your radio is junk

Was your factory harness the 70-1761 style with two plugs or was it the 70-8113 style with a single plug?

If it was the latter you may be out of luck unless you held onto the plug. If it was the 70-1761, I know that at one point Metra made a "reverse" harness that was the 71-1761. Of course the wire colors in this harness are all universal radio wire colors and would not match the factory wiring. It would be up to you to decode the factory colors and match them up correspondingly.

This route will just get you back to the point where you can plug your original radio back in and doesnt troubleshoot the power problem but at least you know the option is out there.

Should be pretty easy to find the problem. As others mentioned, take a test light and check the power wire. If you have power there, then it's the radio.

In a 2000-2003 FSM, one of the troubleshooting steps concerns tape player. My question would be if your not able to check voltages with a VOM, turn key to IGN ON, does it accept the tape ?
I'm sure if that is a dumb question, I'm sure someone will speak up :)

You sure you checked all the fuses? Looks like there could be up to 3 fuses depending upon what audio system you have. Click on the link below with the 2005 Factory Service Manual and look at page 4175 with the Audio Power Source wiring diagram.
