Does anyone know if there is a pre-made that would connect an aftermarket dash speaker into the factory harness?

I would rather just unplug the harness and plug in the new speaker

Not that i know of but i just cut the factory harness from the factory speaker and soldered it to the new speaker. That was the easiest way. I do remember there is a bass blocker which I omitted and bought aftermarket ones.

Any chance of this coming back? I’m really interested in doing a simple speaker upgrade to my non jbl system without swapping my factory head unit, adding an amp, or sub box

    links not working anymore

I would just contact James at Tech12volts to see what he can do for you. Contact phone number is on his website. I can offer advice, for all 2 cents worth....the sub box is critical to upgrading sound. If you just did that, you would hear an improvement. I did all speakers, amp and dsr1 with a Tech12volts sub box. The sub box was the first thing I did and it changed the quality noticeably but left me wanting more. I had the "premium jbl" system. Kept the head unit intact for warranty purposes.

I did the entire install myself after looking at a few hundred YouTube and blog threads on our trucks. Saved a bundle and now I have what that truck should have had in the first place if you are going to call something "premium".

Speakers and tweeters I'm in for.... if there weren't so many damn group buys I would have purchased the entire thing last time. Your sub, box and amp were perfect for the tundra and now I need more! :)

we are doing this again. I had to go up on the speakers a little as the tariffs have everything costing more right now in my industry but not by a lot. and the sides we are using kenwood excelon 3.5 that are made to go in the tundra dash. They are direct bolt in and i like them alot . They actually sound better than some speakers we have used that cost 4 times as much. and they have a 2 year warranty . the center is still JL audio c1 twetters . The plug n play option is for NON JBL only . my harness guy is trying to make some for JBL but hasn't as of yet . still very easy to wire them in as you can take the factory speaker out of the truck and wire it back into the factory plug while out of the truck . The sail panels are factory toyota parts and the tweeters just pop right in them. Here is the new listing . https://www.shop.tech12volts.com/product.sc?productId=579&categoryId=137

I apologize for not reading all 31 pages if this has already been asked. I know many claim these installs are not difficult but for someone like me who has ZERO desire to DYI any of it can you just show up at your local installer with this stuff and expect them to install it for a fee?

That's going to depend on the installer. Some places won't install other people products. Just call around.... but this really is a super easy install.

Thanks, I was thinking for going for the complete package for the JBL head. Does that add to the complexity?

I didn't go that route because no matter how much you add or change, the biggest difference is swapping out the factory head unit (HU) with anything else.

I removed the factory amp and added a kenwood and a Audio control line out converter and sub woofer. Still have the factory HU and door speakers and it all sound great.

I'm sure changing the headunit can get you to next level but at this point I'd like to keep the JBL unit if possible. I'm looking for a significant improvement in sound but it doesn't have to be the best sounding system ever. So even with the JBL headunit in your opinion the speaker and amp upgrade is worth it?

In my case, it was worth it. But my system in a non JBL unit. I don't know what differences there are between mine and a JBL unit except for the additional tweeters and sub woofer.

If you contact James @tech12volts he will give the answers or someone with Jbl will chime in.

Non-JBL guy here. I notice that most of the sound comes from the dash area (with the equalizer in the middle for front/back fading). Would that imply that the best bang for my buck would be replacing the dash speakers rather than the doors? I'm not up for doing both at this point.

I just replaced mine with the 3 jl audio package from James. Did notice the highs were a bit tamer or not as "bright". With my fade in same position as yours

Same boat here except I already have a sub and amp added to the factory non JBL.

I went with the 3 dash speakers first. I do notice the sound is crisper.

Would I do it again? Yes. I think for the amount I paid for the upgrade, it was worth it. I'm still on the fence for the doors. I think if I do the doors, I'll be adding a 5 channel amp as well. I have seen some options that would make it pretty close to p&p.

What speakers did you use for the sides?
I'm guessing you used his Hertz tweeters for the center.

James emailed me today and cleared up my questions.
I'll be ordering the center soon....

I'm glad to see all your audio stuff working out for you..
