I was very gentle with it and the shifter stem is very small compared to the barrel size. The correct way to do this would be to make a screw on brass sleeve the same size as the barrel and at the base make a way to hold down and be able to adjust the rotation position of the gun.
If I only had more time, I will try the Phantom quick draw but will have to modify the way it mounts.

Does the engine air filter have another fabric, almost like felt, attached to the bottom? I was looking at filters for my '15 5.7 and the filter I saw in the parts store had the fabric. I have never seen a filter with that fabric before. Does it get removed prior to installing the filter?

yes it had a fabric type on the bottom, I didn't bother to remove it.. it appeared to been glued. It's this one https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B076BDTJ81

Yep glued, according to this reviewer.

It's a pre filter. I like it in there, makes the engine that much cleaner. I'm sure it decreases air flow a little but certainly not enough to be noticeable or worth removing risking more dirt in your engine

True, the OEM i took out had bunch of crud in it.. leaf, needles, bugs etc, easily can get sucked into the engine.

I like the pre filter because its flat and I can brush off any junk that sticks to it. It's not easy cleaning the pleats of regular filter so I get the Wix with pre filter

Thanks for the replies. Looks like the 5.7L needs really clean air. The prefilter, paper element and another filter in the upper housing. I guess thats part of the reason why they are so reliable and last a long time. Will be changing mine this weekend.

Nice! I like the look of them. Can you post pics from further out?

Also, was it easy to install the blinker (I'm assuming that your mirrors, like mine, didn't have this before)?

On YouTube there’s a video that shows u exactly how to install them. It was easy only one step that sucks, remove the door cover from the inside. 30min total it should takeAA0729CC-E699-452D-9480-52ED37D0C3FE.jpg

With the help from members of this forum. Thank you.
Added a stealth 32” lightbar with Cali Raised Off-road brackets.
Looks kinda silly on a stock height truck but it’ll come together later with the plans I have.

    Thanks.
lightbar is a double row 32” Spot/flood combo. Nothing special. I did however use custom brackets from Cali Raised Off-road.

You can get 32” lightbars all over , just depends on your budget. From $50-$1000

    It’s a bit of work.
You’ll have to do either remove the grill and bumper or
grill and remove just the center lower plastic section which will break some plastic tabs off behind it but they really don’t do anything. Not an issue an wont be seen.
    Install brackets & lightbar (easy)
    Install a light harness (easy)
You can run a switch into the cab or use a wireless harness with a remote (no interior switch needed)

I installed the Sprint booster last week. Initially had second thoughts and honestly considered returning it. Race 9 is really useless, the truck goes from 2k rpm to 6k almost instantaneously without really stomping on the throttle. I finally settled on street +2. The truck really feels lighter to me now. I turned it off to check if i noticed the difference and could not believe how sluggish the truck felt. 2015 crewmax trd offroad xp model. Glad i ordered it and kept it. Only down side is that it us 300 bucks.
Another plus is that once you find the setting you like disconnect the selector and no more wires. It stays set. it has several modes and safety options, but i just wanted the truck to feel more responsive and it really does.

Will the hitch fit through with the location of the mounting bolt? Even if you find something with a really flat head I am not sure there will be enough room. Interested to see what you come up with!

Installed one of those nice aironboard switches for auxiliary rear lights and mounted the control for air bags in the somewhat useless glove box.

Got it dirty and took it up a mountain. Also, been thinking about a new Westin bumper since the front left bumper cap bracket is bent and wont line up properly due to a hit and run. Replaced the cap but noticed it wouldnt line up. Cheaper to buy a new bracket but a new bumper would be nice as well.

Yes, the letters are illuminated with the dash lights and the bulb icons light up when the switch is on. I got blue light to match the rest of the dash switches but other colors are available.
