Yeah, but the real question is why did he go with the 6.2 V8 on a truck that large?

After I read the article I thought the same thing. Who gets a dually gasser? But he also bought a ford so I am not too surprised

Isn't he sponsored by Ford? Just like Kid Rock is by GM, etc? If I got free vehicles by Ford, I would drive one all the time too LOL

Me too! I was surprised when I read the article and immediately jumped down the columnists throat muttering "Its a 6.7, dumbass." Closer look at the door not see the powerstroke badge and a quick wiki later, I found out who the true dumbass was :eek2:. Thought only V10s went in the 350s... nope!

If I had as much money as these celebrities, my tundra would be long travel, a 2018-2020 landcruiser on 3.0 King shocks all around and a smaller mid travel GX460 for tighter trails locked front and rear.

When I lived in North Dakota all of the farmers had 3/4 & 1 ton gassers because it gets so cold in the winter that diesel gells.

A friend brought his diesel with him when he moved there from Utah and he had to pull the glow plugs to spray ether in the cylinders to get it home several times after work. (Not recommended by the way.)

Diesel makes more power, but only if you can get it started and keep it running.

That's what Howes Antigel is for. Had a diesel and never ran with out it, and kept two bottles in the truck for emergencies. You can't blame the truck for people not being prepared or doing a bit of research.

I see you're from Wyoming so I'll assume you have cold weather experience.

I was in Grand Forks. My buddy usually had difficulty when the temp was between -30°F and -60°F (which was several weeks each year). Howe's doesn't seem to have any performance data for that temp range for their additive so I don't know what to make of that.

I'm not exaggerating when I say that no one from that area drove a diesel truck. Even people that had the money and would have gotten the most utility out of a diesel still drove heavy duty gas trucks. Large tract farmers don't really strike me as the type of folks that don't know how to keep their equipment running.

You may be right, but I would be shocked if the solution really was that simple.

All fair points. I was being a bit of a sarcastic ass, too. It's what I do best.

You are correct, I have cold weather experience and drove CDL rigs for a few years. I used the block heater on my Cummins Ram when I had it, and the truck had a tank heater. Tank heaters and lots of Howes would be the only way to roll in those temps, and ND does get bitter cold. I have family and friends that have lived there.
