    Hello,
I have successfully installed Techstream on a Win10 64bit laptop and have connected to my vehicle. This is using version 12.20.024.
The problem is, when entering the "Main Body" menu, I do not have a "Utility" button on the left hand side.

The USB/OBDII cable works fine and connects fine to the truck.
Techstream seems to operate fine without issue.
I have run this with and without Java installed. The laptop being used currently has the latest version of Java installed.

I uninstalled 12.20.024 and re-installed version 10.30.029 but when I try connecting to the truck, it says this version is out of date and needs to be updated. I could not find a way to move beyond that screen.

    Am I missing something obvious?
Does 12.20.024 have that "Utility" function built in somewhere so I can program keys/fobs?
If not, any suggestions as to how I can get that 10.30.029 version to work?
Could it be the Win10 64bit laptop causing problems?

Any help is appreciated. I'm really hoping to be able to program the keys and fob I ordered!

    Thanks

Thank you, any help is appreciated. I've been researching around and it seems like possibly a version somewhere in the 12.X range may have gotten rid of the Utility function? I'm not sure.
If anyone is able to confirm a working, no-need-to-be-forced-to-update version that has the Utility function in the Main Body menu, I'd love to get the version number from you so I can grab a copy.

Here's a screenshot of what I'm seeing in the Main Body menu:

UPDATE: I did some searching and found that you have to disable your network connection to prevent an earlier version from attempting to update. The program will give you ~29 times to use the software before updating but after that, you can either reinstall or make a line entry change somewhere to reset the amount of times you have.

Version 10.30.029 DOES in fact have the Utility button in the Main Body menu. I confirmed it in the truck this morning. Now I just need to await my keys to arrive and see if I can get them programmed. More to come...

Try setting your location to Europe. When I have it set that way it doesn't care abut updating or registration.

I now have two flip keys cut, programmed and linked to the truck. The process wasn't too bad once the kinks were worked out.

Rolling back Techstream and turning off network access was necessary to do the lock/unlock and immobilizer programming.

Cutting the keys was very easy at my local Home Depot. They had a small automated machine that wasn't super easy to figure out. A worker came over and helped to trick the machine into thinking we were cutting steel blanks. We cut up the two flip keys with no issues whatsoever and I ended up buying a steel key as it was the only way I could "officially" pay for the cutting.

Both work great and the pockets are getting further de-cluttered!

I just had my local hardware store cut my blanks. Since it wasn't a key they sold they didn't charge me. The process isn't too bad but you can only store 6 keys and remotes in memory. If new you know how many have been programed but on a used truck, who knows. I don't know if a new key will override an old key (if so then your old key could stop working) or if it just wont program any more keys until you erase the old ones (not sure if the master key can't be erased and how you would know it was the master). If it worked then you're all set.

Techstream was showing 2 programmed remotes before I erased them and setup the two flip keys. I have one remote but the lock button came de-soldered inside and it looks like it has seen better days. I'm assuming that only 2 chip keys were programmed but don't know for sure and didn't see anything in Techstream that would indicate how many there were to begin with.
I'm thinking I have the "Master" key or alternatively, maybe whatever key that's already programmed to the truck you're using becomes the Master key? Either way, it functioned as the Master and allowed me to program the other two.
I've got one more standard Toyota chip key coming along with a standard Tundra fob. Once I program those up we'll see if anything gets bumped. That'll be the last of the keys for this thing though!

Interestingly, the 2nd flip key I programmed that I gave to my wife seems to have something associated with it that automatically locks the doors after 30-60 seconds or so. I'm guessing there's a setting in Techstream for this? It was kind of weird though because it only seemed to do it with that key. I thought I was accidentally hitting the button because I had a handful of stuff as I was finishing up. I'm 99% certain it's doing it.
The flip key I'm using is confirmed NOT doing that. Not really sure what's up.

You can reset that as following steps:
Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Toyota Diagnostics\Techstream\Env and find ''IT3usercustom.ini'' file....open that file with notepad for instance and look for ''Connectioncount=1''.
or what ever number of times you tried and just delete ''connectioncount=1''. Click save and it should then reset back to 30 awaiting you to start the program again.

Well crap! It has been a long while since I used my Techstream software and I never had to enter any code. Now it is asking for a New Key code. How do I get past that?
