I don't see much on here about this, but when I got home from the dealer I noticed they had put 32 lb of air in all tires. The door jamb says 30 in front and 33 in rear. I just don't think this is enough...

I cranked mine up to 40 all around. This is the Platinum with 20" wheels and Bridgestone Duellers. I may back off to 38 or so, but at 40 it feels okay to me. I just don't like the look of the sidewalls flexing at 32.

    What say you all?

Whatever you prefer as long as it's within the max PSI spec of the tire and understand the different pressure may cause the tires to wear differently.
Higher pressure will make the centers wear more, lower makes the edges wear more.

Yes, too high or too low is bad. I was looking for what everyone thinks is the "just about right" pressure... I believe the 32 psi from the dealer was more for spongy ride than good tire wear. The max for these tires is 44. 38 to 40 sounds about right to me.

A chalk test is the simplest way to determine ideal tire pressure then. That way you aren't just guessing if the pressure you've decided to run may have uneven tread contact leading to accelerated wear or too little contact for adequate traction in adverse road conditions (assuming current tire wear is even)

Old Jedi- I just recently replaced the OEM Bridgestone's on my 14 Platinum CM with Michelin LTX MS'2s and am running the MS2's at 36 psi per recommendation of my local Discount tire.

First find a kid with one and grab and run ...wait if your over 60 yah may want go to wally world instead.....
Run a few lines across each tire....
take a short drive, half block? or so....

look at lines......if only the center is worn to much pressure........
Outer edges worn and little or none of the center not enough...
    even wear all across....just right.....

just in case someone has not ever done it that way.....

i read on my nittos max psi is 80....it seemed super high. so i put 48 and i feel like i can put more because there is still some "flex" in my tires. and i have been noticing uneven wear on my tires...before i filled it was around 32/33

ill have to chalk test it.

Duellers are rated 2400lbs at 44psi.

14 CM 4x4 shortbed 5.7 weighs in just shy of 6000lbs.

    2400 x 4 = 9600
    6000 / 9600 =.625
    44psi x .625 = 28psi

In a perfect world, that is your optimal psi based off the tire mfg specs.

    Chalk line test FTW.
