Hey all, new member here. I have a '17 and had an aluminum flat bed made for it. The lights on the back are the oval style led. The voltage draw is so low (I believe) that the blinker blinks twice as fast thinking the bulb must be out. Is there a way that I can make it blink normal again? I cant stand the fast blinking.

    Thanks

    Chet

You can add resistors in parallel with the bulbs to fool the flasher into thinking you have regular bulbs. Not sure about '17. but I do know there are LED flasher relays for 2nd Gen Tundras (which would be a better solution)

Any guess as to the size of resistor needed?

Get the vleds ones, easy to install and comes with a plug system to leave it on the truck if you need to do taillight work. Also don't need to drill.

It's early so I may be having a brain fart, but would you want to put them in series with the load to create a larger voltage drop?

No, you won't get the full voltage to the LEDs if you hook in series.Very dim light, if any.

We all have our moments, brother. I just changed oil and filter on my CM. Left the o-ring off the filter housing. Guess how much oil ended up on the garage floor before I could climb out of the driver's seat to check for leaks. :censored:  :der: I'm gettin' too old for this shyt. :D

So you casually mention an aluminum flat bed.. and don't provide us with any pictures? That's fucked, man.

So this is the first forum type thing I've ever actually posted on, and man I couldn't believe how many new posts there were. I pretty much live under a rock... here are some pictures! Sorry for the delay... You can see where I mounted the backup camera, just above license plate. Those are HID Xtra backup lights mounted to the hitch. Very easy, perfect spot. The bed slide and boxes are from Highway Products. I use this truck for pool work. My older truck had regular boxes mounted on the the factory bed. These new boxes give me twice the room.
