every now and then, i come across well made short films. today, it's this one which i found via speedhunters. no trucks but beautiful cars and amazing editing. if you've got 15 min of down time, it's well worth a watch.

finally got around to watching this last night...

i knew some of this. anyone who had spent time around the pipeline circus did. however, i did not know the bipolar issues. put a whole different spin on the story for me given this past year's events in my personal life. in the 8 years since his death, i don't think bruce, lyndie or anyone really talked about it. not like they do in the film. parts of it were heartbreaking while others brought a smile to me face. watching him surf, up close, was something special. being there and photographing his world title win in '03 then seeing the footage in the film... it brought back great memories.

Definitely the best time of year for lack of crowds too. I too have traveled all over the world for surf and I always tell people they would be amazed at the quality we get here sometimes. NY was really put on the surf map after the Quiksilver Pro contest a few years back in Long Beach.

Now I want to carve some snow lol

TC long travel. Deaver 420 SU leaf packs.
DO IT! The first day is a little rough. But coming from skating and surfing the learning curve is a mere bump.
These days I only surf when I travel. The water's too crowded with nasty piss ants that haven't been alive for as long as I've surfed in this town. Oops, sorry bout the rant.:D

2 of my favorite riders. claudio's world cup course previews are nothing short of brilliant and danny, well, he isn't human.

unreal was a fun little movie but i think this was the best segment in the whole film. more impressive was that was a single take...

watched this the other night. mahershala ali and viggo mortensen are some of the best actors working today. while most of the movie put a definite sugar coat on the racism issues, the two of them were absolutely amazing. it was definitely the 'safe bet' for the academy to pick which, as usual, is disappointing. however, watching the two of them together is really what this movie is about. give it a watch.
