Actually, very few bites. So I will most likely have to have a “Going Back to stock” garage sale online before trading in the truck.

I got exactly what I expected...wholesale trade value for my mileage. $39k.

Even if I got private party value ($41,600 to be equal to the $39k trade), it would have taken longer and more of a hassle.

The value of a Tundra is great...except if you’re selling a near new one. It’s only really beneficial if you’re keeping it longer. In my case, not so much.

Oh boy. At least I know I won’t get flamed, as a former TRDP owner. ;)

    Better:
    1. Speed. It’s way faster than the Tundra. Especially if you change to bigger wheels/tires on the Tundra, forget it. I think they're about the same weight (5700 lbs). For a few hundred $$ you get a 90hp/90 ft lbs increase (at the wheel).
    2. Comfort. 13+ inches of front/rear travel. Heated/vented seats (not on the TRDP). 802A option package is $10k, but you know you're in a luxury truck.
    3. Underseat has actual room for a box...no need to cut up the carpet. For $139, you can store MORE than the ESP underseat console.
    4. Push button start! I know this is a feature now in the TRDP, but it was not on my 2017.
    5. Locking tailgate! It can also sense when you are close enough and unlock it for you. Extra bonus for the old-man tailgate step.
    6. Remote start that stays started.
    7. Appearance. I think most would agree that Ford set the standard on this kind of truck...the pointless, sand dune truck. For me, a great pavement princess. I'm never taking it off road. I was going to put flares on my Tundra but getting the Raptor was way easier.
    8. 10-speed transmission (aka better MPG). At 60mph, the truck goes to sleep in 10th gear at 1000 rpm. Hence, the mid-15 MPG i've been seeing. I never got better than 12.8 on my Tundra, especially after the tire upgrade.
    9. Tires. They come with BFG K02s from the factory. 315/70R17s. The optional bead lock capable wheels are awesome looking.
    10. Lights. LED everywhere. Even in the bed.
    11. Power folding mirrors!
    12. Memory seats/mirrors!
    13. Puddle lights under the mirrors (so you don't trip over stuff when getting in/out)
    14. INCLUDES a-pillar grab handle (but, of course)
    15. Exterior buttons on B-pillar (to unlock door without key)
I'm sure I'm missing some more stuff, but it's a great truck.

    Bad (so far):
    1. Exhaust sound, well...not like a V8. I'll get over this while I pass and accelerate past my V8 friends.
    2. Price. At $25k more than a loaded TRDP, it's more. However, now that there are still more than 4000 brand new 2019s on the lot (and 2020s already being ordered), I got almost $7000 off MSRP. Remember when they used to sell for $15-$20k OVER? Not now...
    3. No rear fender liners. Not sure why, but they don't come with them (and Ford doesn't make them). Purchased and installed ones from Husky for $130.
People talk about the issues they've had with their Gen 2 Raptors (usually 2017-18s) but I've not read anything about the 2019s. 2019s got improved suspension, new trail control (meh, doesn't matter to me). 2020 goes up in price and they have 3 new colors (3 colors removed).

I'm glad I was a TRDP owner because it showed me what I really wanted in a truck. I may not have the reported reliability in the future, but then again, I don't keep my vehicles for 100k+ miles. In the end, I feel that everyone deserves to own a Raptor (Gen 1 or 2) at least one time in their life.

Did i mention how much faster it was? :D:D:D

I like it man. My buddy has a Lariat that has been trouble free and drives better than my Tundra. Other than the reliability advantage of the Tundra, I don’t think any less of the Ford.

Congrats mate, that’s a black beauty right in yer driveway. Totally understand why you went for the raptor! Once you’ve driven one aggressively off-road and tore up some trails whilst sitting in state of the art luxury...kinda hard to appreciate the well aged, rugged simplicity of our Tundras.
Only truck that comes close off-road is a 6.4L power wagon IMO.

I had raptor fever really bad 7-8 months ago. Almost pulled the trigger on a 2018 SCReW 802a ( everything except graphics)located in Indiana.
$63,897 otd MSRP $71k ish IIRC.

    $1200 shipping.

Payments were gonna be an eye watering $850-$900/month. Just couldn’t justify that when I’m paying off credit card debt like a Mofo.
(17.6k debt in June. Now down to $1,900 )

Besides...I live in SoCal and dealers are still hoarding raptors dreaming of $10-20k market adjustments.

Man I have ran the numbers and this scenario many times.... lol.... My 2015 CM just hit 107k miles. I am about to do all the 100k maintenance and new rotors and pads the whole way around. I was trying to justify spending $60ish in order to save 1500.... LOL... decided I should keep my tundra for now since it will be paid off this year. I am also doing 25-30k a year in mostly highway miles so I mentally need that Toyota reputation.

I test drove one when I was looking for trucks.
I wasn't set on anything and didnt have anything in mind.

Warm day out and thought why not drive some new trucks.

For the price of a Raptor I couldn't see myself buying it.
They are a pretty truck though.
Another 5000 and i could have the same stance. I saved 20,000
