The measurement the length of my tailgate down is 18” from hitch receiver face to top of gate.
Custom bumper though so may not be same as oem length :anonymous:

Picked up a meta am. Cheapest new bike i could find. Peddles not too bad actually. Put a 28t oval up front to help me out.

Buy a bed pad. They are a little cheaper and hold up to 3x as many bikes. Most fit six but i got mine to fit nine full sized full suspension bikes one time, only had to take a few front wheels off.

Yeah man. I love my Commencal. Helps that their US corporate office is just a couple miles from me - but I love it. I had an Ibis Mojo preciously and I wouldn’t go back

    Nice!
Mine came from Squamish, only took a few days to get my mail order bride. I had a stumpjumper evo and it was a turd compared to this.
Would have bought the meta tr but was out of my price range so I will suffer on the up hills :)

I’m running a oneup roof rack on the rhino rack bars that came with my ridgelander cover.

I’ve used and seen lots of racks and in my opinion oneup can’t be beat for either roof or hitch rack.

I have the race face pad. I like the down tube pads inside. It had Velcro straps on top to secure the bikes but they rotted off in the sun within 6 months. The pads hold the bikes in place still. I also found a used tailgate and cut off the lip on the tailgate under the pad so the lip 60DF8726-8C0A-41F9-9A80-93DD4963C4C7.jpg didn’t push the pad into my stanchions. 8FE7307D-89C2-4D07-9F09-DCDA1111AB50.jpg AFE4D390-214A-4424-90B8-737E30B2C072.jpg D4D44F89-3581-40CE-919C-B4ABA57C2CF1.jpg

Any good full suspension bikes you guys recommend under $1k? I have back issues and get some major aches from the hard tail. I think a FS might help.

there are none. Sorry. Not to sound pompous but as a bike shop employee the barrier for a good full suspension is at least 2k. unless you want to buy a Walmart bike that will be stiffer then your hard tail. a great middle ground is to buy a 27.5+ bike. The fatter tires will offer more cush over a regular hard tail plus most have 120 mm of suspension up front which might be more then what you have now. So my recommendation would be to save up.

There’s a MTB site called pink bike. Check there for used bikes in your price range. Wandering boy is spot on. They cost $$$

Go to numerous bike shops in town and go for a test ride in the parking lot or on a local trail if they don’t charge you to leave the lot. You’ll know if a 27.5+ or full suspension feels better on your back.

Also check craigslist. If you do buy a used bike the suspension may need new seals or a rebuild. Very easy to do. Many vids on YouTube to save money.

Love mine. Just pulled it off for winter and the tailgate looks better than the rest of the truck paint haha. Thanks for the paint protection Dakine.

Canyon has their Neuron AL on sale currently for $1600. It’s over your budget but it’s definitely cheaper than some other offerings

Been riding a 2019 Specialized Fuse Comp 27.5+, but Recently been doing some more distance on the American Tobacco Trail. Picked up a used 2012 Ridley X-Fire PF30 Cyclocross. Can't wait to get it out and give it a run. its a heck of a lot lighter than my Fuse Comp.

Anyone with a Diamond Back cover have some good solutions to put 2 or more bikes in the back? Looks like it's going to be very tight if I take the back panel off and lean the tires over the tail gate. Best solution I have now is a rack in the hitch but I've seen some folks drilling their cover. Anyone here do that?
