I have a 2018 SR5 CM, i added a 10" Kicker Comp C subwoofer a few months back and it has upgraded my stock audio system significantly. I am wanting to upgrade my door speakers. Can I put new speakers in the doors without having to add an after market amp for the speakers? Has anyone tried this with the stock Tundra audio system? The amp i have running on my sub is a mono amp so if its not reccomended that i upgrade my speakers without getting an amp for them i would have to get a 4 channel amp on top of the speakers. All feed back is welcome, thanks in advance.

    Pro suspension, sways
    OEM speakers are 2 ohm
    Aftermarket are usually 4 ohm
This means you will have half the output of the OEM speakers with the new ones... Plan on an amp to get the volume back.

The answer is yes and it doesn’t cost a lot to do it.....I replaced mine with Memphis audio 2 ohm 6x9’s and bought the speaker adapters through *********. It sounds wayyyyyyy better. I still want more volume but the Memphis speakers cleaned up the sound significantly

I'm going through the same process, although I have an aftermarket head unit. I'd agree that you will want to amplify the other speakers. The good news is that you can replace the factory amp under the passenger seat and connect to the factory harness without running new wire to every speaker.

I believe (I'm wrong all the time and could be wrong about this) the only downside of using a mono amp for the door speakers is that you will lose the ability to fade the sound. The power to each speaker will be constant and unadjustable. That said, I think you'd still want a second amp.

If getting a 4 channel amp is something you are willing to budget then that's what I would recommend. There are a few respectable ones out there for $150 and under.

Question, how is the sub amp getting it's signal? Did you use a converter that changed a set of speaker wires into RCA's?

Can you link me to the speakers?
With the adapter, did they bolt right in?

The "Audio Control Lc7i" will be placed in between the head unit and amplifiers.

The Lc7 allows you to take a pair of speaker wires (ex. The wires that would go to your rear speakers) as its "inputs" and on the lc7 output side you'll now have rca jacks. Which then will be how you connect to your amp/s.

Basically it let's you convert speaker wires into RCA's.
