I don’t think it will. I was able to listen to Spotify, make calls, etc.

I’m planning to add the apps back that I want, one by one, and figure out which one causes the rebooting.

This is 100% an Apple issue. Mine is doing it in both of my tundras.

For those of you not willing to give up on the update, make sure to confirm that the unit did indeed take the update by looking in the history setting of the Unit.
Updated mine a long time ago for the rebooting issue and its been perfect. I have also been through 3 Apple Iphones with the most latest update 4 days ago and still works perfect.

I hope it’s this simple. Mine started doing it in my 2019 Tundra right after the last I Phone update this past week. I assumed it was the head unit and made an appointment with the dealer for yesterday. The dealer said the latest update has been done and ordered a new head unit. Yesterday afternoon, I jumped in my 2017 for the first time in awhile. Within about 3 minutes, the same thing started happening: would reboot every 45 seconds or so whenever Bluetooth was connected. If you turn Bluetooth off, the radio itself work fine and will play stations. I hope Apple fixes whatever they did in that update soon. Is there a way to revert to the previous operating system on the I phone?

Unknown to me if you can revert back, but I also don't think it's the Iphone.

At first I thought it was the Head Unit as well. But then I jumped in my 2017 Tundra and the exact same thing started happening. It worked fine in both until the latest update and then within 6 days both radios are displaying the same symptoms. The likelihood both radios having the identical malfunction within 6 days seems astronomical. Plus, the HU itself works fine. It only behaves this way when the Bluetooth is connected. Something with the new update is not playing well with the HU.

No updates are currently available for my 2019 (w/Nav) according to the Toyota site. Here’s the screen:

    What about your 2017 ?
Also the update history screen, that's not it.

edit: ok, I understand no updates for the 2019.
    Very curious on your 2017.

I reset everything. Forgot the phone, re-paired it. Did a soft reset on the radio itself and forgot all personal data. Nothing. NADA. Same thing. I’m no tech guy but IMO this has got to be some Bluetooth setting/interface that was changed in the latest IOS update... not a coincidence the same exact issue is occurring in both my trucks at the exact time the IOS updated. Wish i could go back to the last OS and see if it fixed the problem. The dealers and this thread will get really busy if that’s the case. Frustrating.

Ok, If you decide to update yourself, this is what happened to me.. My first attempt was unsuccessful. I then tried another usb stick ( different brand) and that worked. It took approx 20 minutes on the status bar.

The problem with the dealer is some young kid who was just promoted from oil changes is attempting the update...verify with the update history screen if it was done..

thx Jeremy. Appreciate it. I’ll probably try this later today. I’m using my 2019 for work these days tho and there didn’t seem to be any fix in the works for my brand new truck. Ugh!

Took my son’s phone with IOS 13.1.2 out and did some errands. The Bluetooth radio and phone worked perfectly for over an hour. Not a single reboot. Got home, disconnected his and reconnected mine running 13.1.3 and it began the reboot process within 45 seconds. This has got to be a 13.1.3 bug.

I looked at that link and there’s no update available for my 2019. Had it at the dealer on Saturday and they told me the same thing... no update is available. It’s running the most up to date software that available. Just gotta wait and see. The dealer ordered a new HU for me but I honestly don’t think that’ll fix the problem.

I went to my dealer on Friday to try and fix the issue. We connected my phone to a 2020 model and it work fine. No reboot. Hopped in a used 2019 and it rebooted. In my opinion it’s a fault on both Toyota and Apple. It seems the older head units aren’t jiving with certain iPhones that have the current iOS update, and something in apple’s update is causing an issue with certain phones to not communicate properly. A work around that we discovered is when I initially paired my phone with the head unit, I chose not to sync my contacts. We tried that and my HU didn’t reboot. Even when shutting off the truck and starting it back up. But it’s still annoying that this has to be the solution. A while back I was being helped by Apple about the issue and they said to reset my phone back to new using iTunes. I haven’t tried it yet because it’ll delete everything unless you back it up but at this point I’ll try anything. One things for sure I’m not getting an iPhone anymore. I may also consider getting a kenwood HU.

Thanks for the ideas... will try not syncing my contacts. FWIW, drove my 2018 4 Runner for awhile tonight and not a single issue with that. Driving me nuts. Especially since the 2019 is what I’ve been using for work everyday... it’s going to have the hardest 24,000 miles on it imaginable. 90% of the first 1,200 miles (and three weeks) have been hooked up to an 8,000 pound trailer. And the next few weeks will be on limited maintenance roads with the consistency of peanut butter for hunting season. I NEED the radio working for the ride up to camp! BTW I picked up this 2019 lease as a way to save my 2017 the wear and tear of the next 12-14 months... I’ll be beating the snot out of it so no new head units for me. Not putting a penny in to this.

    FIXED TODAY:

Went to the Apple Store Genius Bar and told the guy what was happening. He came out to my truck and fixed it in less than 5 minutes. You must be running 13.1.3. Forst: forget the Tundra from the I phone Bluetooth settings. You must also remove the I Phone from the Tundra radio so there are no phones paired. You must turn the Bluetooth off on the I phone until the last step. Here’s what he did to the phone:

    1. Uninstall Apple Music app.
    2. Reset network settings.
    3. Sign out of your I Tunes account.
    4. Restart the phone.
    5. Sign in to I Tunes account again.
    6. Reinstall the music app.
    7. Open the music app, select songs, then select shuffle and let it begin playing the music on the phone first to be sure it’s working properly.
    8. Pair the phone with the truck again (turn Bluetooth on, go to audio screen and select add).

I did this at about 10:45AM and drove the truck all day without any issues. Music and phone working fine. Also jumped in my 2017 and played a couple songs and. No more rebooting on that radio either. Hope this works for you guys too! Good luck!!

I was having the same issue with my Entune Premium w/Navi after the IOS 13.1.2 update, did the 13.1.3 and it did'n resolve the issue, went to the dealer twice, they said nothing was wrong with the radio and that the problem was with my phone, I even opened a case with Toyota Customer Service, also chatted with Apple Support, they say to restore my phone from iTunes as a new device then restore from back up, that did not work either...then I saw this post...tried and IT WORKED!!, I followed all the steps yesterday morning and haven't had any more issues since then.....thanks #WNY PAT

Thank you for this. I have a 3 day old 2019 Crewmax at Toyota as I type because my radio would reboot every minute until the bluetooth was disconnected.

    MUCH APPRECIATED!!!

I don't need a fix, I updated mine awhile ago and don't have any problems with my head unit.
