Okay, bought a 19 dbl cab and have a question. It seems as though the dealership know how many miles I have. I'm 450 miles from the 20k service and got was contacted by the selling delaership and the servicing dealership within 2 hours of each other.

It's seems obvious to me somehow Toyota is gathering the miles/info via satelitte and forwarding the info the dealerships.

Is there a way to TURN THIS OFF? a fuse? GPS? some how some way? Just don;t care for big brother keeping tabs.

    Thanks In advance.

I got my 30,000 reminder at 33,383. I’m thinking they go off time more than anything. Are you close to 1 year and 8 months of ownership?

Then you’re being followed! I have zero idea if they actually are. But, I would assume you need to disable GPS in some way.

I seem to recall that my 14 owners manual had some fine print somewhere about the "black box" , for lack of better words, will keep track of things, especially if in an accident. My 07 didn't have Entune. I know when the maintenance light came on with my 07 after 5K clicks and was reset it would of course come on again after another 5K. I wonder if TechStream can change the interval to what you want???

Exactly. I know friends with newer Chevy trucks will get "the call", but they are "live" so to speak.

...and If you or the dealer records service info on the Tundra owners site they will obviously know when it's a good time for them to give you a heads up whether you want it or not.....

Same here, my 18 will be 2 years old in December and I’m still under 9k miles. The dealer calls often and I tell them no I’m good.

Friend of mine has a Dodge :( that came with an app to monitor EVERYTHING. He gets periodic emails or texts that give him his mileage, air pressure, MPG, etc.
GM’s OnStar is very intrusive also...and lot o’ luck getting rid of it.

It's timing. And for what it's worth, I'm still getting service reminders for the 2016 Tacoma I traded in last year.

I went from a high mileage role at work to a low mileage role, and the call and email reminders were WAY off for an interval or two.

My old commander had a newer BMW, when it was time for service the navigation would plot a route to the dealership. Until it was reset at the dealership, it would route him every time the vehicle was started. thats obnoxious
