Here's a bit of the experience of ordering, unboxing, checking for damage, and rustproofing the RB20s:

    Shipping Box

    Protective Packaging and Wrapping

    Front and Back Views

    Hardware Bag

    Surface Damage due to Rubbing

    Hardware

My choice for rustproofing the underside and all hardware after watching a comparison video on YouTube (https://youtu.be/oXlhmbvdKBo):

    Sprayed, wet:

    After drying, ready to install:

I hope this helps anyone considering purchasing these. You find lots of installed pics, but not much leading up to the install and protecting them.

I'm hoping the cosmoline spray lasts in the blasted areas such as the running boards. I went with Fluid Film for the rest of the underbody.

Thanks for posting this! I just bought a set of RB20’s that I’m planning to install next weekend. I was worried about the stories I’d heard about the coating and future rusting. I’ll be sure to do this before I install to hopefully prevent that. Thanks!

Quick question. Did you end up coating the tops of the boards as well with the corrosion inhibitor? It looks like you have the spray liner versions. I just bought the powder coated version. Wondering if I should do the tops as well

I didn't apply anything to the liner coated upper surfaces. The hard part is getting coating into the underside C channels given their angle. Once I had the second snug down of the bolts after a few days, I finished by coating them. So far so good. Up next, a salty winter.

Awesome post, I’ll be following your foot steps when mine come in! Did you do anything about the rub through on the top side of the running board?

EDIT: nevermind I see it was only on the hardware now.

Another Vermonter here with RB20s. I have the powdercoated version. Last fall I gave the underside of the running boards a light shot of Fluid Film and they seem to be holding up well. I sprayed them again with the FF last week. I was tempted to get the Rhino Liner version of these but there were some issues with it peeling off.

Wanted to put the running boards on right away but I’m gonna be patient and treat them. Long story short it’s about to go down.

If I went with steps I would get SS tube style. Keeps the snow off and mud. Won't corrode. Had them on a 2004 Ram for 11 years of Mi winters lots of salt held up great no rust at all .

I'm in Mass and considering getting the RB10s or 20's but worried about the New England winters. Glad to hear your are holding up well after at least 1 winter.

PS. Did you have to take off any OEM steps to put these on? My dealer just found me a truck but it already has the chrome tube step on it, they won't take it off but I'm hoping to get them to knock down the price because I didn't want an OEM step. Either way I'm likely getting the RB10s or 20s eventually.

Ordered my RB20’s November 18th, day after buying my truck. Last update on expected shipping December 22nd! :frusty: The plant for Go Rhino is in Mexico and it seems they are on back order everywhere. Nothing closer to Raptor style running boards that I got hooked on when truck shopping.

A youtuber have a code for 10% off if you use code UNTAMED on gorhino.com for anyone looking to purchase this. Been thinking about getting these to replace my predator steps.

    see sig for mods.....
I've had mine (textured version) on for 2 years now, look and work great. If you install them with the wide end towards the rear, they are perfectly straight in relation to the truck. If with the larger area up front, they will stick out farther in the front and taper back to the rear. That is how I installed them as I rarely have rear passengers, and wanted a bigger step surface. Also gives a bit better spray protection to the side of the truck. Very happy with them.

Cancelled order with Runningboard Warehouse yesterday. Placed order with Creative Motoring in Arizona yesterday. UPS tracking says, “out for delivery!” I guess we will see, but overnight!
Looked under Tundra and see bolts in mounting holes. Did anyone use them? Or did you use supplied bolts? I didn’t pull one to see how long they are.

I liked mine, at least most of the time. The one thing that bugs me with the gorhinos is that there all warped. If you take a side profile look at pretty much all of them you will see how they tend to twist upward toward the back of the truck.

The work as they should as steps, but even while mounting them using the plates I could tell that theyre just not robust. Which is probably why they warp. Oh well.

I tried the code and it worked but I don't like using discount codes that are intended for 1st responders. I have so much respect for them.

Agree... don't want to ruin a good thing for those that are. I did use the UNTAMED code that you shared and that worked fine. Not quite 25%, but still a decent discount. :)
