Hi there, long time Ford guy here but have been wanting for a long time to get into a Tundra. So I’m finally ready to order one and I know this is the last year of the Tundra 3rd Gen but I’m going to pull the trigger. I’m really getting sick and tired of all these gimmicks and electronics on the others trucks as I want a good old fashion V8 made out of metal. Now I’m in the weird crowd and want a DCLB. These are impossible to find on a lot so I’m going to have to order one. My question is by ordering it can I still shoot for the 10% rule that many other have got off MSRP or do you not get that when you customer order? Thanks in advance and can’t wait to join Tundra crowd

Man, best of luck. I've never actually special ordered a vehicle. It seems like it'd be easy for the dealership, but who knows.

Welcome from Aurora. Not sure what the 10% rule is but back in the day I always special ordered my trucks. Did it 3 times. Longest I had to wait was maybe 2 months. I waited one time for 5 months to get a Fiat X19 in Orygun. Had a 75 Ford 4X4 but needed a kuul chick car too....still can't help the the 10 % off thing...sorry....you will like the long bed and you are right, hard to find, so special order is your best bet and you will get it the way you want. Worth the wait.

    Hey there from Virginia!:mudding:
Have you tried nationwide searches on Carmax, CarGurus, Autotrader, or EBay? I'm not familiar with the 10% rule either, but I never buy without checking these sites first. Even if you have to make a trip to see it, sometimes it's worth it.

    Welcome.
You can most certainly negotiate a deal that works for you. Just because the truck is not on the lot does not mean that the dealer will not want to make a sale. They will however try to push you to consider something that they have, which you will just have to be firm about, and you might not quite get the exact deal that you can get on a local vehicle, but it should be close.
When I searched for my truck I had one ordered at one dealer and then while waiting I found the exact truck at another dealer. I was able to get the same price at both places.
