    I picked a used set of tow mirrors and want to refinish them, they have some scratches and a little fading.

    I initially wanted to color match but the more I look at them I may want to stick with the black look.

    Is it trim paint? or a flat black and flat clear?

    Also does someone have a diagram to disassemble tow mirrors? If I could find that it would make the paint job easier and better

    My Tundra sits out 365 24/7, and my cowl was fading, I took off and used trim paint 3 coats, looks new still, did about 2 years ago

    And do you mean take mirror part off? That I don't know, sorry

    I used this stuff on the bed rail caps of my 1st gen and it worked really well, and held up great! I recommend it. Easy touch up if needed. Just did a light scuff, and cleaned with acetone.

    I recently de chromed my mirrors. Cleaned then prepped with alcohol. Used Rustoleum 2X Acrylic Enamel. I used semi gloss but you can get matte black. I used a whole can. Several coats. Came out quite nice.

    If you hit an auto body supply store. Ask for SEM trim black no need to clear. Trick to make it look good is many light coats like 5-7 and it will look like new and last

    @Theyfzman

    just a follow up, i got the SEM paint as recommended by @Theyfzman. HOLY CRAP! amazing results. they look like new.

    I will be posting pics when I pull the tape and put the smoked lights back in.

    it was super simple too, just a red scotch brite scuffing, rinse and clean. tape the glass, wipe with alcohol and spray light coats
