VLED Switchbacks and OEM LED Headlights

I just purchased the OEM LED headlights! I love my current VLED switchbacks so much. Such a good product. Is it possible to add VLED switch backs to the LED headlights? Anybody running this setup?

DISCLAIMER: I am going to be running the iHacker harness as my truck is a 2016 that came with Halogen lights all around.

 

You can use switchbacks, just forget about depin/cut gray wire under dash and you should be good, just have in mind this due to different turn signal bulbs the switchbacks only work in DRL mode then when headlight is activated and DRL turned off the switchbacks would be turned off. You cannot modify this because fuses will start popping up.

 

You have to do something like this instead of depinning that gray wire

Just a heads-up. The DRL/Amber turn signal socket from the halogen headlights are different from the LED headlights. If you're planning to move your VLED switchbacks from your halogen headlamps to the LED headlights, they will not fit.

Here's a response from iHacker when I tried to fit my switchbacks to the LED headlights:

You can’t use your current LED turn signal bulb in the new housings they are completely different bulb - old trucks use a 3157CK bulb and the new headlights use a smaller 7444NA.

 

If you have the VLED turn signal from old halogen headlights they should work but you have to repin the turn signal adapter to make them work correctly, if you are starting fresh with new VLED bulbs make sure your get the 7443 bulbs

To eliminate the triton from keeping amber on even when the headlights are on, I cut the purple wire going to the turn signals. It controls the dim for the turn signals. It will still work during the drl function but turn off when headlights come on

 

So are you sating once you turn on the headlights the switch backs run amber?

 

My bad, I just have the regular Triton's. No switchbacks

 

Same as I mentioned before, if you go with my harness and leave the Amber DRL untouched (leave gray wire in place and tap instead of depin/cut) you go to have the switchbacks functionality but this would be turned off when you turn your headlights ON.

This is because some differences in the pinning between the old bulb 3157A and the new 7444NA
