Anyone have a ballpark estimate for how much this will cost to repair? Also, anyone recommend a good body shop in Massachusetts?

    Thanks

I had something similar but involved the bumper as well. Estimate was $2200. Looks like you need a new taillight though, so it'd probably be more.

I was backed into while inside a parking garage (I wasnt there) but luckily the guy gave the garage his info, so he will be paying. He wants to not use his insurance, and pay me cash. He also missed my bumper, so that should make it cheaper - but because it's such a new truck I want to get it done correctly. What a pita.

I just wanted to give him a heads up of a ballpark before I drive down to some collision centers and get a couple shop estimates.

Thanks all for both your knowledge and sympathy.

At least the guy that hit you left behind his info. I had my truck for 2 weeks, had it parked on a street in downtown Portland, and some idiot hit it while I wasn't there, and took off. No info left. That guy is going to get some serious karmic payback eventually. So, it's on me to pay the deductible to fix his mistake.

I got hit from the rear once by a Chevy truck. Very similar. I had his insurance change the rear left panel completely, and a new light. Paint to match. Looked brand new. Panel was 1800 bucks, light 230. Labor about another 1200. total: 3,230 plus tax. Since your truck is new, the insurance should just replaced the panel and the light and that would be it.

Was this through a toyota shop or a collision shop?

Bummer that those things happen. I had a smaller scale dent that someone left in my rear chrome bumper 24hrs after getting my truck. No information left, and it had to be a good hit. It pushed it in really good.

As for shops in Mass. I dont know of any, but not sure where in Mass you are. My buddy has a shop in Exeter NH, and does really really good work, but you'd have to be north of Boston for that to make sense!
