I also would like to add that if you do it this way, it should have a clean Carfax for resale and trade in.

Appears to be garage kept, so it looks like you take care of your vehicles. It might pay you back in the long run.

If you go w an OEM bumper Toyota bumper are usually raw plastic if you plan on doing it yourself. You will need an adhesion promoter (bulldog is good) then a sealer then the base coat then clear. Mum thinking a body could do it for roughly $800-$900

You were not wrong. First estimate is $976. I can buy a replacement bumper cover from Roman for only $200. I'm assuming another $200-300 to have it painted. I think I can install it myself. I'm learning that way pretty heavily.

Sorry this happened. It sucks, but it could have been a lot worse.

However, the staff has discussed this and we can’t have Toyota on Toyota violence. Deleting in 3...2...1

    Just kidding.

So I destroyed my tailgate on my GMC. Looking around at body shops it was going to be 1500.00 and using all my components. I started to look around.
On Amazon, there are several places to get pre-painted body panels shipped to your door in two days. I found my tailgate for 575.00 shipped. So a third of what it would have cost. Might be an option for you.

Hold the Line! If you are not holding the line, abandon your ship. Destruction is inevitable without more to hold the line!
Sorry to hear about your bad luck.

Now that neighbor has got it figured out, lol.
