The heat from the torch causes the bubbles to rise.

Edit: you're talking about acrylic and not epoxy. Nevermind me then. Lol.

    To much to list:)
I don’t mean to be a smart a$$ but if you would notice the acrylic is dry and dull from sanding all ready. No bubbles are going to come up thru dried mixture, we flash it to make it shiny. Knowing how to mix it and using the special paddles for mixing keeps the air bubbles out of the final product. That’ll be it from me. Have a good day.

Yeah, i understand that. I thought originally y'all were talking about the bubbles that form when you pour the flood coat of epoxy on a surface.

The edit was added cause i realised that wasnt what yall were talking about.

Just a mistake on my part.

4 out of 5 peices in our dining room are hand made.
This corner cabin was made by my grandfather. Probably in the early 50's

He also made the dining room table

My brother makes all kinds of Badass tables. He made this for me out of 3 sequential slabs of old growth Redwood. It's 10ft x 4ft at the widest. We love fitting everyone all at one table! We wish we could have fit it inside, but we don't have enough room. Anyway, he and his wife run the business out of Gig Harbor, WA. and it's called:

    Outside the Box Woodworking.

20150804_083811.jpg 20150804_083858.jpg I made this table for my cabin. It's 4" thick pine. It also has matching benches. I love the look of live edge furniture.

    Thanks!

He certainly has a passion for it. His shop is hooked up too. He has multiple level kilns, massive mill saws, oversized flat belt sanders and application booths. 100% in house production to keep the product perfectly happy throughout the entire process. Really amazing stuff in person.

I wish I could get a table from him, but I'm sure his pricing matches the quality (as it should) and shipping would be a fortune.

Couldn't hurt to give him a call! He is very personable, and will do whatever he can to fit your budget. They also deliver all over the country, usually by driving it themselves. Good news is you both are on the west coast so anything is possible!

Just picked out my slabs today. I'll be joining these three 11' pieces of Sycamore and mounting them on a steel base. The shop is flattening them for me now. Can't wait to pull them together. slabs.jpg

Beautiful table. Did you make the legs or buy them?

Bought the metal pieces. They are made from rectangular steel tube and I don't weld (yet).
