Did you get the regular end links or the lifted ones? Any feedback? I just leveled my truck and my end links are pretty shot so I was just going to replace with moog, but I like the idea of getting the longer ones and the angle looks much better in your pics.

I went with the extended versions. I had a lot done at once so can't say they made a huge difference but I can say the truck rides 10x better than it did!

Everything has been delivered as of yesterday.

Unfortunately, the top piece of the Amazon list is NOT the correct mounting kit so I had to order another that came in today.

So far, I have the radio hooked up and verified all speakers/radio works.

Tomorrow I will get the alpine speakers in and finalize the install of the radio (gps/wifi antennas).

Not sure I'll have time to wire the backup camera just yet but we'll see what happens. Anyway, quick test pic for now.

Radio is installed and all functions I've tried worked.
    Backup camera working
    OBDII & Torque app working
Rear speakers installed & confirmed working
I also switched out the LEDs while I had the dash apart since 3/4 was burnt out. Plan to remove the cluster and clean the green off so it's white as well as update the light for the keyring and the boost gauge but not in a hurry there.

Still, need to install the Alpine front speakers but it'll have to wait. Had my 2.5 yr old daughter with me and while she was having a blast and being helpful, the front speakers would be a bit more of an undertaking that I didn't want to start so late today. I didn't take any pics during the rears as I was trying to get them knocked out quickly.

It's a little hard to compare a before/after as I never owned a Tundra without the SC but I do own an LX470 as well and it has the same motor. The LX470 does have more weight, all-time 4x4 but has the 5spd transmission and the Tundra is MUCH faster.

My biggest complaint about the LX470 is how slow it is. It can't get out of its own way and not sure if you read my first long intro but how I even got into buying the tundra was originally shopping for an SC for the LX470.

Overall, I enjoy the extra power but it does have a cost and that usually is at the pump. I think I'm averaging 11.5mpg when driving around town and that's probably 100% my own fault haha.

I have an 03 and love it!
I am like you though it’s slow.

My wife’s new sequoia with the 5.7 has all the power I need but I would like to put an sc on my truck

    Why'd you order rear coils?

Someone pointed out that the verbiage is probably just a mistake as they do not make a rear 886 and the site probably just had it labelled incorrectly so I'm going with it.

It's a nice setup. Did you dyno it yet? What's the boost and rwhp?

Appreciate the compliment. I haven't dyno'd it as I want to add JBA headers and possibly switch to Bamuffler before I dyno it.

Boost wise, I typically see 5-6psi. A few times I had seen 7psi but can't seem to replicate it.

I'd guess each psi will gain at about 20 rwhp with headers. Are you looking into beefing up the transmission? Putting in high stall torque converter? I'd think the stock transmission can handle a pretty good amount of power, but a high stall torque converter will maximize the response.

I've only seen one dyno and I can't recall all the mods but he was at like 330rwhp. I doubt I'm there but we'll see eventually.

For transmission, I have a good friend that's a trans mechanic and I'm doing some consulting with him but not sure what the plan is there. If something breaks, definitely but until then not sure if I'll change anything or not.

That 330 rwhp should have near 400 rwtq. Plenty of towing power. :)

Was the included backup camera cable long enough? I have the same one, but I have a double cab, so assuming I'd need a foot or two more than you. Will I need a longer one?

There was a lot of cable for the camera. I had to zip tie the slack up. DC's are about 10" longer than AC's if I'm not mistaken but should be plenty!

Would the factory mounts not work on this head unit?

I tried them and they did not work. They could probably be modified but the trial/error to get it to align correctly was more than it's worth plus you need the trim around the radio (radio doesn't fill the entire gap).

    ^ Appreciate the feedback.

Below is a quick list of remaining items I have left to acquire for the build. I'm sure this will change/morph over time but as it sits now, this is the route.

    Purchased/Need to Install:
    • OME Shocks/Springs
    • SPC UCA's
    • Warn Winch
    Need to purchase:
    • Coastal Rear Bumper - Or something else if it becomes available
    • Yellow Top Optima - Dual battery setup
    • Coastal/Brute Force Front bumper - Still undecided here. Really impatient so probably end up with Coastal and might need to modify slightly for the Zeon 12 winch.
    • 4.88 Gears
    • Hellwig Front sway bar
    • Decked storage - modified F150 model
    • Roof rack - Toytec's
    • Sliders - Custom
    • Torq Locker - Front diff
    • Skid plates - Skidrow full set
    • JBA Longtube headers
    Current Look:

I'm curious about your dual battery setup. What's the 2nd battery for? Do you go overlanding?

I do plan for this truck to be my camping rig.
The 2nd battery will be used primarily for the winch and some other accessories depending on what I feel I need once I get some time in the woods.

The original plan this year was to purchase 15-50 acres in N.Ga/Tn/NC area and build a small shack/cabin for the immediate future with a goal of a nice larger cabin in the next 5+ years. The truck would have been very handy for me to go up alone to check on the property/build.

Instead, a few months ago, my dad came to me stating he was selling his house because he's getting too old to maintain the property. He has an acre on a lake in a nice area with 2 houses on it. A small mother-in-law size house that him and his wife stay in and the main house that needs to be torn down. So, instead of the property up north, I purchased his so he can stay put, I'll maintain the property and planning a 2500-3000 sq ft house to build on it.

    Crazy how quick plans change!!!
