Live in Northeast Ohio and winters can be harsh sometimes with Lake snow effect. More concerning is the brine and salt they put on the roads.

Have a new 2019 Tundra TRD Pro CrewMax and ordered some Wool Wax and their Professional gun kit. Wool Wax is similar to Fluid Film just a bit thicker and supposedly adheres/last longer and mitigates through the surface area like fluid film by gravity.

Toyota stated that these have rust protection with 5 year warranty. Salesman stated that Fluid Film would not void the warranty.

I have an 80 gallon compressor with drop lines system in garage and know the trouble areas where rust typically appears from 30 years of working on vehicles on the side.

Prior to putting this Wool Wax on, does this interact in any way with the current rust proofing applied to this vehicle? Should there be any concerns.

I cannot imagine there is any way the Wool Wax will be a problem. I applaud you for taking steps to protect the truck. Most people do not.

I also will be claying the vehicle this weekend, putting on Adam's liquid paint sealant and a nice coat of wax to protect the paint.

For the time it takes to undercoating the vehicle, it is time well spent and easier to do than running all new brake lines or fuel lines.

Plan is to touch up after winter in spring and before each winter.

    Welcome from NY.

I coated mine with Amsoil Heavy Duty Metal Protector when I got my Tundra. I plan on giving it another coat this week.

I am glad that I no longer need to concern myself with such things, my winter preparations includes new wiper blades and storing my warm weather wheels & performance tires while I ride on Michelin ltx m/s2 tires during the winter months. I may even buy an ice scraper this year...

I lived in Michigan for five years and central Indiana for two years and had a 2011 F150 the whole time. I made it a point to run my truck through the automated carwash every week or two in the winter and get the undercarriage wash. I traded it in a few months ago for the Tundra and it had hardly any rust on it at all.
I'm starting my second winter in Alabama this year. We only got one light dusting of snow last year and it was 100% melted off by 9am. I hope this winter is less brutal.

IMO, regular washing is hard to beat. With undercoating, you do have to be careful not to trap any moisture between the coating and the metal.

I did the same during my decade in central Indiana... worked like a charm.

I'd rather deal with winter than hurricanes or tornados. Thankfully our winters vary, but it looks like it could be a bad one this year.

I use fluid film from a wool wax gun and spray everything underneath. Suspension, undercarriage, frame, spare tire, back side of body panels, axels, underside of bed, back on the brakes, trailer hitch.....everywhere I can get it. It does wash off in some areas due to road spray but I just recoat those areas as needed. Good choice

Not sure if you know, but that 5 year rust warranty is only for perforation rust. Take a look at the post I made of what the undercarriage of my Tundra looks like after a few winters in Boston, Massachusetts.
