My good friend Mike usually gets his grapes in Palisades near Grand Junction, CO...but earlier this week he went to Burlington to get wine grapes. 50 cents per lb instead of $3. Frost on the way. He and a friend picked 300 lbs. His friend had a large grape crusher. Don't have pics of that, but after the crush the raw "juice " was transferred into 40 gallon containers and yeast was added.

I made a few batches about 10 years ago. It was fun. I cheated and used the bags of juice /mash but I still considered it home made. Red always came out better than white, much much better. I still have all the stuff I used, including 5 gallon carboys, and a nice stand up corking tool which cost a decent amount at the time. I should clean it all up and sell it, someone can use it. I would send you stuff if we can figure a cheap way to ship this awkward size stuff.

My friends, Mike and Sita, have allowed me to start this thread. They have taken home wine making to a new level. I'll be posting pics shortly....
