This post is long overdue. After completing my build (well for now) I've been hitting the trails hard this summer before the snow comes to the CO mountains.

Originally had the TRD off road trail tuned bilsteins, swapped those with Fox 2.5 IFPs, but the shop screwed up that install, so I got ahold of Fox 2.5s w/ resis and installed those myself to save on cost.

broke the SPC UCA ball joint boot and had a hell of a time trying to remove as it wouldn't budge. Thanks to @T-Rex266 and @Toytec Lifts for helping me get my hands on a new one fast!

muffler chop in order to install the Alcan Springs. had a muffler shop redo the tail pipe shape for ease of future work on the leafsprings/shackles and clearance at full droop. wound up being $100 or so.

Just a few things to note. I discovered this site a year ago when I bought this Tundra as I was considering some upgrades. I quickly realized there’s a wealth of knowledge here and some very helpful people willing to go out of their way to answer questions. I really didn’t know squat about truck mods and what to avoid. I’d just like to give a shout out and huge thanks to the people that helped me throughout this build and answered my seemingly never ending string of questions. Thanks a ton to @ColoradoTJ @Vizsla @T-Rex266 @smslavin @Coachbuilder1 @csuviper @COTundraRoamer @Baja Designs @RCIoffroad @Wheeler's Off-Road Inc ... you guys helped me do some pretty amazing adventures this year. looking forward to many many more.

Didn’t realize you had to chop the muffler to get the Alcan’s on. Nice build going the same exact setup for the most part!

Those are some nice photos. I’m terribly jealous. We can’t get that far from civilization anywhere here.

I just cut my pipes off parallel with the side of the springs and left em that way. Could you post a picture of how you had your pipes modified by the shop?

I'll post a picture of the exhaust here later today. Do you have the TRD dual exhaust? I was a little hesitant to have my exhaust blowing heat that close to my springs and I wanted to keep my TRD dual Exhaust tips.

RSG Offroad does all lifts for a Denver Toyota dealer near me. RSG told me that with nearly every leaf spring upgrade they do, they'll cut the tail pipes. All their vehicles then go to a designated muffler shop to reshape the pipes...they do TONS of these a year. If you still have your tips I would suggest speaking to your toyota dealer to see who does their lifts or find a Toyota specific offroad shop that'll tell you who does their muffler work. This shop that worked on RSGs/Toyotas vehicles on a regular basis was way cheaper than other shops I called around to.

I was just in Kauai, Hawaii. Seemed like a lot of people go wheelin out there. I didn't get a chance to. The terrain looked gnarly and HI is an amazing place. I could see how its hard to get really far away from civilization out there though.

I forgot to say how nice your build is! Really great mods. I’ve got over $7,000.00 in mods, only around $50.00 of it is cosmetic.
The exhaust and the heat is only on the springs at full droop (this is when the picture was taken). Those springs in the picture have been replaced with Alcan leaves. The tips (chrome TRD) went to the landfill several years ago. Yep, it’s the factory TRD dual exhaust all Pro’s come with.
The stock pipe will hit the stock springs with just the 2”CB shackles at full droop. Most people don’t ever get there, and so they don’t care or even know.

The springs are awesome man. I was really fretting about how stiff the ride would be given that they’re +750lb over stock. Without weight in the bed the ride quality really isn’t too bad. Then with a roof top tent and a full bed of camping stuff it’s insanely smooth especially off-road and with the tires aired down.

The guys at Alcan are great to work with too

    Thanks.

The first two trip pics are on the White Rim Trail in Canyonlands NP, Utah near Moab. All the others are in Colorado...mostly in the San Juan Mountains and alpine loop.

Awesome work on the build. My buddies and I found that campsite on engineer about 6 years ago and is the soul purpose we return every year. The Perfect Spot.

That camp spot is pretty neat. not sure if you saw it this year, but an avalanche ripped through that pine tree field right next to the camp spot and there's tree fall in that creek along those waterfalls about 20 feet from the fire pit. All that snow the san juans got was no joke. the alpine loop had a crazy amount of avalanche leftovers.

Yeah we got to camp there one night this year. I’ve never seen avalanche damage before but now have a new found respect for the amount of destruction they can cause.

I don’t have a pre-chop pic, but this was taken this morning. You can see the weld lines and how the new shape gives more room. I did barely hit the tips on a trail with somewhat difficult/rocky terrain, but the springs never come in contact with the pipe anymore and I’m free to remove the shackle/spring when I need to without having to cut the pipes again.

Undercarriage has some red dirt, but the alcans have shown a tiny bit of rust...don’t think that’s too big of a deal though.

Here’s a couple pictures of how it looks when just “at rest”. You can see that there’s no risk of heating up the springs or anything else.

I think I’m gonna leave em like this, I would probably crush the tail pipes if I ran them out.

Color match hood bulge and surround grill more to come
I’ve gotta ask about the vinyl wrap for the front bumper. How mulch did you order and this is the cheapest alternative I have found to delete the Chrome bumper caps? And did you use the color code 1h5 for your cement tundra I’m gonna order some but not sure what to order! I looked but I’m lost any info you could share would be awesome thanks in advance and btw your tundra is BAD A$$

I’m really happy with these Alcan springs. 1,200lb over. 9 leafs on the driver side, 8 on the passenger side.
1 1/2” lift designed in. Ride is close to stock, even with all the weight I run. There’s about 1 1/2” of rake, which I prefer, cause with the boat or small trailer, there’s no squat.
