Attended my monthly VFW meeting last Monday, and saw this little black beauty parked out back of the building. As I left after the meeting, I stopped for a closer look and the owner, an 86 year-old Korean War vet asked If I'd like a ride. I declined, but stayed and talked to him for a few minutes. I'd never heard of this little Toyota with a flat-4 Subaru engine. Nice looking little roadster. He said he just likes to drive. Usually rides his Harley. He'd gone to the local dealer for some reason, said he wasn't looking to buy anything, but ended up driving off with this. A blast to drive on our back roads of the Texas Hill Country, according to this old enthusiast. I believe him.

Just about. It was originally part of the Scion lineup as the FR-S, but after Toyota ended that program, everything got new badging and cosmetic tweaks.

These are nice looking cars inside and out. An overall good collab. Just laking in the power department. It's a shame it being the last one.
